@tim kind of a long story. While we were in corporate housing I found a NOS Technics SL-10 which came with an EPS-310MC cartridge. When we moved I purchased a SUT from Park's Audio (the same guy who made my phono stage) and popped the cart on my main table.

A very nice sounding cart, and it showed me what a LOMC sounds like through the Park's Audio gear. Made me wanna move up the LOMC ladder again. In looking around I found a few reviews for the Hana and decided to give it a try.

Excel is an oem company that has apparently a very long history of making some very nice cartridges for other people. They're very hush hush about who they've designed and built for in the past. The Hana line are the first carts they're released under their own name.

It really is something else. Even on a complex cue like Ave Maria Guarani from The Mission it tracks perfectly and has a huge open soundstage. Gave me shivers.

Vercetti Technicolor/Antoni Maiovvi - Lost Apocalypse split EP on Vivod

I have been enjoying this EP quite a lot on soundcloud/mp3 recently, and it is a real treat to hear it on vinyl. If you are a fan of Vangelis' main theme for Blade Runner, then you should really have a listen:
https://soundcloud.com/vercetti-technic ... -vivod-010

I also get a kick out of Maiovvi's cover of the Magnetic System (Bixio-Frizzi-Tempera) proto-techno jam Escape. I still prefer the original of both of these, but this is about as solid of a dancefloor outing as I have heard in a while.
Hot damn @deaf... still waiting on my copy (composes email forthwith) ;)

@monster hope it arrives safe and sound! It really is such a cool score. This is my second copy. Had both shipped from overseas. The first one was described as being M-, that was about as far from the truth as you could get. The thing looked like someone had buffed their floors with it.

The second copy I got lucky on. Overseas shipping prices stink on ice though.

@bpw following suit :) after all the talk of Billy's cheek and the blu-Ray coming out next month.

@Static, Billy does get pretty screwed up. The blu-Ray coming out next month. I might just drop for that one. I've been watching the VHS tape forever. Hands down my favorite Rutger Hauer film.

I did treat myself before Xmas and ordered this reissue. I have a few other Audio Fidelity pressings. A bit pricey, but the pressing quality is top notch.

So many great ones to choose from and with a certain film set in 2019 floating around out there, I couldn't make that commitment. It's my favorite Stallone flick though.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Working late, but a very happy night in the headphones:

Scored a minty crystal-clear copy of this vinyl . The main theme is yet another notch on Morricone's belt of legends.
