@tim kind of a long story. While we were in corporate housing I found a NOS Technics SL-10 which came with an EPS-310MC cartridge. When we moved I purchased a SUT from Park's Audio (the same guy who made my phono stage) and popped the cart on my main table.
A very nice sounding cart, and it showed me what a LOMC sounds like through the Park's Audio gear. Made me wanna move up the LOMC ladder again. In looking around I found a few reviews for the Hana and decided to give it a try.
Excel is an oem company that has apparently a very long history of making some very nice cartridges for other people. They're very hush hush about who they've designed and built for in the past. The Hana line are the first carts they're released under their own name.
It really is something else. Even on a complex cue like Ave Maria Guarani from The Mission it tracks perfectly and has a huge open soundstage. Gave me shivers.
