Any thoughts or guidance is appreciated.
Doxy is a grey label. European public domain stuff. Psycho was a fucking disaster. I have a couple others (blues records, I think) that are far less offensive to the ears than Psycho which sounded like it was sourced with a prehistoric telephone pickup while underwater. Perhaps there just is no decent source for the real original psycho (no idea, maybe there is and doxy just blew it harder than sasha grey).
I like WaxTime much better for grey label shit but they mostly do jazz stuff. There was a time a couple years back when I was able to get sealed WaxTime for like five bucks each. Half price books generally stocks them $10-12 apiece. I honestly have no idea if distributing grey label euro stuff stateside is kosher (it probably isn't). Probably CD sourced. But at least Waxtime's manufacturing quality is on point, I mean not one single defect in at least a hundred of their LPs that I've played, and come to think of it they're all mastered pretty well too. It is kind of ironic that a grey euro label is putting out more consistently HQ manufactured discs than just about any other label out there save the top dollars like Analogue Productions.
Anyway, that's a long way of saying I doubt doxy is paying anyone to release this stuff, and they probably aren't using master tapes. But it probably won't sound like diarrhea unless it's the Pyscho OST. But it might. Buyer beware, but buyer might be moderately satisfied with said shady euro grey market disc.
