Buckethead's Population Override was released on 2LP with a few bonus tracks from other albums. This is instrumental jazz/funk-rock stuff, tastefully done, a chill listen. Not bad for a guy that records like an insane number of albums every year.

Anyway, I was worried it was a bootleg, but I think it's legit. The only place you can buy it is from the label Ion Records via Amazon.

Haven't been on here for some time, and finally had time to catch up with some threads. I was surprised though no one has brought this one up yet:

They also have the soundtrack for Le Réserviste (link on the same page), which does not really do it for me though.

I want this one to sell well, so they keep going in that direction with the label. So all Umiliani fans, go for this (have checked discogs for prices, and for now, the re-issue will have to do, at least for me)

For fans of Earth/ Sunn/ Sleep this is a similarly doom-ridden sludge rock masterpiece, original copies of which go for stupid money.

Really looking forward to this. I'm a big fan of the writings of Ray Bradbury, and to have it read by Leonard Nimoy along with some vintage synth and acoustic backing music it's a real treat. Here's the blurb from the website:

"Philip "Snakefinger" Lithman is best known as a guitarist & collaborator for legendary weirdos, The Residents. Between their albums and tours, Snakefinger released four solo albums and toured the world before dying of a heart attack in 1987. He was only thirty eight years old.
As a huge fan of The Residents, Snakefinger, and the entire Ralph Records family I spent many years collecting until all that was left was unreleased demos and live bootlegs. The first time I heard this Live In Melbourne show I was blown away. His first two studio albums are great but have a very Residents feel to them (all co-written and produced by them) whereas this live recording showed me a crazy, revved up, "post punk" version I never knew about. I love both versions but this show is really something special and has been my go to Snakefinger recording for the last ten years or so. This recording has never been released except for some bootleg cassettes and downloads. I tried to find the best copies I could and finally sent two different sources to Carl Saff to restore and master it. Aine O'Dwyer's 'Music for Church Cleaners Vol 1 and 2' on MIE

An improvised recording made on an organ in a London chapel while the church cleaners go about their day, Aine's timeless music is constantly offset/ enhanced by environmental noises around her as she plays: the drone of the cleaners' vacuums, the clacking organ pedals, the creaking of the pews, random noise and chatter.

Anyone allergic to religious-sounding music will probably find it too much, but for fans of Nico or Dead Can Dance gloominess it's an uplifing and satisfying listen, with the LP landing somewhere between an ambient meditation, a live improvisation, an archivist field recording, and something completely other.
