I’m all in on that, @Bez!

Had a morning V-Day double bill of later giallo- Too Beautiful to Die (Italo, ‘88) and Knife Under the Throat (French, ‘86). Both highly enjoyable and featuring the one woman who, in a different universe, I am a dangerously obsessed creep over…. Florence Guerin 😍

Nice one!
I have seen Too Beautiful to Die, but the other not yet.

I am watching the new Running Man at the moment. Didn’t think I would enjoy it, but I do.

Watched Kurosawa's remake of Serpent's Path, really enjoyed it. I thought the changes were interesting and kept me engaged in the story in a way as I was unsure what they were going to do next. They were not particularly big changes but enough that it makes it feel like an alt companion piece to the original instead of just a direct remake. I was trying to explain to my wife how I liked a few things they did differently and how the emotional core of the film felt very different but in my explanation she just said that sounds just like this one lol

Either way I think everyone should watch this and recommend it

I've been on the fence about watching this, I love Wright's films but the trailer looked not good. Maybe I'll download it this week and give it a go

So I watched The Running Man this weekend and that was the most mediocre film, nothing particularly bad but also nothing good either. I don't like Glenn Powell, I think he's not a good leading man. At the beginning of the film there were a few moments where it felt like a Wright film and then it plays out just about like any other modern big budget studio action film. I didn't hate it but have no interest in watching it again

On the flip side of that I also watched 964 Pinocchio, holy hell that's a wild film. Felt very much in the same vein as Tetsuo the Iron Man, hyper kinetic cinematography, insane performances. Had so much fun with this one

Apparently one of the worst movies to come from Belgium.

It has a terrific score. Still need to check if it was ever released on vinyl.
And if you ever want a movie that you cannot find, let me know.

Thanks! Here is a discogs link to the vinyl and cassette, released back in 1986. I thought I had added an entry for the CD, but I haven't. I'll fix that today.

Wow, thanks to you and @Bez for putting this on my radar, watched it last night and thought it was great! I kept thinking ‘man it feels like Ridley Scott must have seen this before shooting Black Rain’ which was made three years later… and of course with Matsuda in his final role opposite Michael Douglas! It was like slotting a huge puzzle piece into that film/Scott’s inspiration.

Think I’m gonna need that soundtrack now!

Gonna try to watch A Homance this week

Watched Redux Redux last night, really liked the set up for this one, super interesting concept that they unfortunately fumble a few times towards the end and a finale that was just so dumb and illogical w/ character choices that didn't make sense. Worth a watch and I'm sure others won't have the same issues I did

Watched Animal House yesterday for the first time. Dreadful. It hasn’t aged well. But I am wondering why it ever was considered funny.

Now watching:

Now watching:
I'll be honest I always felt it was a bit overrated for what it is and that was how I felt 20+ years ago. I imagine it's even worse now

I watched Send Help this weekend, a fun little film that just feels like Raimi enjoying himself. I don't think it's anywhere near his best work but it's still great and worth everyones times

Few others I watched as well

OBEX. that one was interesting, really great effects in places. Moves at a snails pace but don't think that hurts it

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. Kind of strange little hitman/crime comedy w/ some time travel mixed in. Solid cast, if you like Vince Vaughn it's worth watching. I enjoyed it enough

Operation Taco Gary's. I really disliked this one and recommend no one watches it. They run unfunny jokes into the ground hoping that you'll start to laugh at them for doing it again. Weirdly enough it also has sci-fi spin on it for being a comedy. Good cast that just didn't deliver on anything, other than Doug Jones, his role was the only one I kind of liked
