Happy All Hallow’s Eve to you all!

I have a show tonight making live visuals for band I work with, it’s all highly ‘Victorian-Spooky’ so definitely should be a good vibe. Hope you have a good one 👻

While I’m here - my highest recommendation for a creepy new movie: EXIT 8. It’s a Japanese film based on a game (apparently), but honestly DON’T watch the trailer and go in cold, just take my word for it: if you like head scratching existential/liminal horror that genuinely gets under your skin this is fantastic. I loved it. For reference points I’d say Vivarium, 1408, Jacob’s Ladder, Luis Bunuel, Sole Survivor…. the ‘trapped in a surreal situation’ sub genre!

The Exit 8 sounds really interesting, only version I see out there is apparently from a European dcp rip with hardcoded subs. Is that the version you watched? Or did you catch it in theaters?

I posted the Exit 8 soundtrack on the “CD’s Now Playing” board back in late September, and it’s on my top-of-2025 list. I really want to see the film.

Perhaps it was the combination of knowing next to nothing and it being exactly my kind of thing, but I was pretty fired up with excitement by the end. Very immersive - I had numerous moments where I groaned out loud/said ‘oh no…..’

On it’s own fairly modest terms I’m tempted to say it’s the best ‘horror’ film of the year for me - I can’t think of a better one of the top of my head.

I got sent a screener link (with watermark unfortunately) I wish I’d seen it in a theatre tbh.

Hitcher. I so wish they had done a better job with this. I know it's from a DAT backup and not the original tapes, but still I feel like they could have made a better sounding pressing.

Went to see ‚The Hans‘ last Saturday in Duesseldorf. It was a great show, unfortunately he was pretty sick that night, he mentioned that he had ‚a flu‘ and after the break he couldn’t join the second half which was a bummer but understandable. His entourage and all the musicians made it work, and since then I have been pretty much on a Zimmer binge again.

This one and Interstellar remain my favourites. I have come to like F1 quite a bit since last week, they played the main title and I will for sure grab the score on wax in Dec when it will be released.

He puts on a good show. Saw him years ago on his first big tour and it was a great time. Bummer that he had to bow out mid way through.

Yeah, I‘m at least happy they didn‘t cancel the whole thing. He is in Germany currently, all 3 shows this week have been cancelled.
