First, thanks for the heads up Redeye. Much appreciated.

Second, why the heck is this happening? You can find these still sealed for roughly half this price. Even less if you can stomach a saw cut or corner clip. We need the damn score already! The soundtrack is cool and I suppose I hope folks buy it so that interest will grow for the full monty, but seriously what is the hold up? I guess I'm sticking with my Sanboval Edition for now...

Just a quick note on Texas Chainsaw Massacre - all ten copies are bespoke pending shipping cost quotes for two copies. I *should* be able to get more, but I cannot give an ETA on that, but I *shall* post here again when they are in hand. Please send me a PM if you want on the wait list so we don't clutter up the board!

I am not a fan of taking money for pre-orders, which may be a fatal flaw for my online shop, but I prefer actually having the item before I sell it. Crazy, I know.

Thank you to everyone for making this fly out of my house!

They must have stopped their 20% off because I'm not seeing that offer at all. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Thanks. I went to his store and didn't see that. Appreciate it. I was hoping to get the two Data Discs releases in that deal. Not a big deal.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust OST by Marco D'Ambrosio preorder goes live Thursday from Tiger Lab on double LP:

Image

SoundCloud samples on the above link. I revisited the film a few months back with an ear bent on the score and enjoyed it. I have not given it a complete standalone listen though. That said, this one is a must for me. One of my favorite anime films by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Stoked to see more releases from TL.

Yeah, I'll be ordering that Bloodlust LP for sure. I slept on Tiger Lab's previous releases. Ordered UROTSUKIDOJI: Legend Of The Overfiend LP and was so floored by the presentation and music that I became an instant fan of the label. Really bummed I missed out on Perfect Blue and Wicked City, as those are both interesting soundtracks.

I'll be happy to continue my tigerlab collection and order this new release.
Perfect Blue is my favorite that they've done so far. I don't think I've ever seen the original Vampire Hunter D, and it's been maybe...14 years since I saw Bloodlust ? I might be due to revisit. Might scratch that itch from waiting on castlevania season 2 anime.

The original D is a classic, but the English dub sounds a bit dated. I prefer the original Japanese with subs if you have access to it. It's still a bit strange to me that Bloodlust was produced in English. I will definitely be checking out the next season of Castlevania as well. Good times.

I got email back from Varese about the Ghosts of Mars LP:

Thank you for being patient as we resolve this issue. Our manufacturers have pulled multiple copies of this and tested them for us. On this record, there are some cosmetic imperfections caused by the inner sleeves. We tested them and it does not affect play. If, however, the cosmetic imperfections are unacceptable to you then we can provide a refund upon return of the item. Please respond whether you would like to return the record and I will issue you a return label. Thank you!

I have not received an email from them yet but I'll tell you what my imperfections do effect playback so I'm not sure what they are on about.

Same email from VS today. I furthered the exchange a bit by explaining that the scuffs did negatively affect the sound on my copy. I described these issues in moderate detail and asked if there was a recourse for pressings that, like mine, had more than cosmetic issues. The reply was polite yet terse; they had "no copies available for exchange" and I was again offered a return label and a refund, in that order. I replied that not having copies available for exchange was disappointing as well as odd since they still have copies up for sale and the aforementioned play-tested copies with no sound issues. Plus, it's just not a typical business plan. What if the record had been damaged in shipping? No replacement? Again, odd. And, again, I was apologetically offered a refund. No request for video of the issues. No attempt to replace my poor copy with one of the "several" play tested copies with no known sound issues. Very strange indeed.

^Ditto all the above. The whole experience has really soured me on Varese, which is a bit heartbreaking. I was riding a sweet high from The Goonies and The Sixth Sense.

Damn, this bums me out. I planned on uploading a video for them to understand the issue. I'll probably still do the same. It seems very strange that they are not offering any type of exchange.

Same email here. I’m bummed as well. What I’m guessing is the plant said GFY and so Varese arent gonna pay for an entire new run. :(

My hope is that they never use those printed inners again.

This is all a massive bummer.

Mainly for this reason: having seen lots of evidence of wildly scuffed/ugly sides that folks have received, they genuinely think that's cool? I'll be honest- it really surprises me that, playback issues not withstanding, they wouldnt understand why customers would want a replacement
and just SORT IT OUT/keep the loyal customer happy, rather than quibbling over how much effect the damage has on playback.
Guys- my copy looks fucking chowdered, and it for sure DOES affect listening (not to mention hurting my eyes)- but I'm fucked if I want to sacrifice this LP in exchange for refund, knowing that there aren't any better copies out there (or at least that's what VS would have us believe).
I tell you exactly what's happened here- Varese asked the pressing plant if they were covered for repress, and the plant said 'no- they play fine on our shit'.
:(

EDIT: turns out, whilst I was typing all that long-winded whiney bollocks on my shitty iphone, @static was summing it all up in one sentence. *fist bump*

ah, shame for you guys :( in a slightly underlit room I had not noticed that my own copy has some scuff marks, but it does. to be honest, they (the marks) are not as bad as the pictures I've seen on this forum, but they're there. my copy sounds okay, a few clicks here and there but nothing that made me think the copy had a pressing issue.I wonder if a batch of copies were affected in storage or shipment. maybe some scuffing happenned in transport. I seem to see that kind of marks mostly when a vinyl is in a printed innersleeve, or tight cover sleeve.
