Truth!
Although I have to be completely honest - I've been hovering over the OG Varese press of House/House II forever, and despite liking the WW edition I'm still inclined to grab the VS - at the same price as the new 2lp edition :O
Wanted to comment on this as well.
I have only be collecting for about 4 years now. Because of the DWRC/Waxwork/OWS releases I got into this soundtrack on vinyl thing. At first I wanted to collect all of their releases including all variants. I decided against that idea fairly soon :-)
At the same time I found out about Discogs and wanted to collect OG as well. Or at least all the Varese Sarabande releases. I decided against that idea not long afterwards...
Then I found those beautiful Japanese OGs because of the beautiful people here. Now I want all of those. And I am not deciding against that idea.
But this all means I also do not have a lot of orginal releases and I prefer to buy a beautiful re-issue over a cheaper OG if I cannot get the Japanese version of it. And those Japanese versions are not the cheapest which means I then will get the re-press/re-issue/re-thingy. Think of The Thing for instance or the future release of The Shining.
But then there is a score like The Exorcist. Easy to get an OG and easy to get the Japanese version. And because of that I still do not own any copy of it. Everytime I see it, I am thinking of getting it with a next order. And now there is this Waxwork re-issue. With some nice artwork. And I want that. And next year I'll also get the Japanese version anyway. Because of the obi addiction.
Anyways. My couple of cents.
