^ actually had to look up what movie that is :-) I have never seen Vamp. Love Grace Jones though.

The Hans Zimmer Live in cinema experience was a lot better than I expected. It rocked. Literally. A lot of pounding drums and gitars. Never heard Electro from The Amazing Spiderman. That was a superb. And also the Batman medley was intense. Thin Red Line: damn!
At home I went on Youtube to show my girlfriend what her son and I had seen and heard, but I does not come accross really well. You need to here this on a good and powerful soundsystem.
Highly recommended though. Especially the second half.

maxlevel wrote:New Star Trek is flipping fantastic. What is the mirror? Is the guy in Mudds cell a shapeshifter? Why was there loads of series captains names in a background computer screen, if this is a prequel?

Totally into it!! Especially the little pet they have which navigates space time via space mushrooms.
After seeing episode 6 I completely agree. Did not see the captains names. Did not know it was a prequel. Only found out in episode 6 that it's placed just before the Star Trek original series. Completely missed the link with Michael's father.

None of the captains names negated the fact that it was a prequel; they were all firmly in their proper timeline. Good show so far.

Sounds amazing @Bez. Wish I'd been there. Have said this before btw, but I firmly believe that some people just have a Zimmer-shaped hole in their soul. I've excitedly blasted certain favourite tracks to pals when they've been round, and they have remained completely unmoved. Yet I know a few people who are like me fully paid up Zimm-Dogs :) I got really excited when I first heard the cue 'Flight' in Man of Steel, like no other 'big' score has moved me in years, and would just be met with blank stare from friends who thought I'd lost my mind. That entire score is a fucking modern masterpiece IMO, right alongside Interstellar.

Did the triple header last night. NoES 3, H4, and F13 5. Great times. Long times. The People came in search of thrills, laughs, camaraderie, and libations. The People were sated.

No work today. Rocking a mild cold. Plenty of good strong java, and....

Stranger Things 2. Let's go!

deaf that gif is just wrong and turns right after some study!

Somewhere, in a little box, I have the pieces that were made by the effects artist for (the power of Christ compels you) leg cutting scene. They are so brittle and old...they were made out of a liquid plastic instead of the conventional foam material back in the day.

Now that is a proper souvenir, Evan. Ho-lee smokes!

Amazing, Evan. My oh my. It's fairly surreal to see iconic bits like this hanging about in a box. I'll keep this picture handy for reference on my next viewing!

^ Finished that one. It had its parts. And also missed a lot :-) The intro music was fantastic. The rest of the score not so sure. Did not stand out.

Next: The Shining! on the big screen! Talking about intro music.

SBTC: Static has one of the largest TVs in the World. For perspective, those are full-sized pumpkins. As a matter of fact, the third from the left is a prize winner.
