@evan I was being silly as well. :) a big ole glass of wine is never a bad thing. Unless maybe there's a driving test around the corner or something. :)

I was about to send you a 18 dollar bottle of Coppola's finest... but if a story will get me by.
When I was young I worked on this direct to video film called The Regenerated man. Actually directed by Ted Bohus (Deadly Spawn) fame. Do not bother looking into it.
I remember I was happy because George Stover of Don Dohler fame was in it. Actually the head I mentioned in thinner made it's first appearance in that this film as George stover emaciated corpse. At that point I could have retired and rested on my laurels. Anyway, one night we are doing a set up of a puppet head. There was a small crew of about maybe fifteen to twenty people on set. The crew were waiting for me and a friend to set up this puppet head for shooting. In between takes I used to smoke. When they call us..and I would clip the burning head off my cigarette, put it into my pocket, and run onto set. So as we are working on this puppet in front of the crew I smell something burning and smell smoke. I keep looking around. and then tons of smoke is billowing out of my army flight jacket. I open the pocket and the whole inside of my pocket is on fire...like a lot and of course the crew is witnessing this. I run over to a craft service table and pour an open can of sprite fully into my pocket ...and then go back to working on this puppet. A simple slice of life tale for the birthday boy! Happy Birthday

Yesterday I went to see a show : Chelsea Wolfe and Youth Code. I did grab some Chelsea Wolfe LPs, I knew of her before but I didn't have any of her music and had not streamed a lot of it yet. it's pretty cool, good Doom rock. I didn't know anything about Youth Code, it's weird, they put on a cool show and I got my first spin of their abrasive Industrial electro tonight :

They have a sort of punk attitude, the singer had a sort of middle ground between a black metal make up, and a Crystal Castles trashy makeup. I don'T have a vast knowledge about the industrial electro scene but they've been said to be similar to Frontline Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Atari Teenage Riot. Anyway they made me think of way back when I would shop for noise and drone and harsh electro tapes...

I'm now spinning this new Popol Vuh acquisition. Got the two recent Wah Wah releases in the mail this week, and recently acquired the three OWS reissues in the month before that. I got some catching up to do, my first dive into Popol Vuh was through the Waxwork release of Nosferatu. I feel like I should have dug into theses at the same time I started exploring Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze.

Pretty good stuff ! The only Nils Frahm I own for now. I'm going to see his show in march here in Montreal with a dear friend, so if he's got merch, I will probably pick up something.
