I've got my Mother tickets for Thursday, but I just saw Puppet Master at the Drafthouse, a childhood bucket list nominee for the big screen. The audience was comically perplexed in New Braunfels, TX, of all places.

I watched it when Scream/Shout released the BD a few years ago. It's definitely worth a re-watch.

I am living in Connecticut for a bit and drove to the house location used in the film Let's scare Jessica to death.
Was always curious to see if it was still standing... and it is. About to fall from decay. Hope they come out with the soundtrack in the near future.

I'm currently working my way through the recent Hulu anthology series, Dimension 404. I like it quite a bit. It's unabashedly lower budget and a bit cheesy, but it's all heart and full of cool concepts, and fun, if predictable, twists.

It's not a Dutch film but from Serbia. Close. But very different.

It is really fun, Static. Speaking of stars, I just watched the first two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. I liked them pretty well. They are pretty clearly trying to incorporate some modern socio-political issues into the show, but that was always a big part of Roddenberry's original vision from what I understand. Unfortunately, the music was only so-so. The cues were largely fine, if forgettable, but the theme is really odd to me. A mash-up of several styles. Seems like they went for it all instead of committing to a single direction.

Watched The Girl With All the Gifts. Very meh movie, starts off well enough and then meanders along without direction. Weak script. Score sounds a lot like Utopia Season One, which isn't a bad thing. Anyone else check it out? It's on Prime now.

I watched it a half year ago. I actually really liked it. Thought it was a very original take on the zombie genre. The beginning was the best part of it I agree.

Verhoeven 'guilty pleasures': for shame guys! How could you?? PV 80s-90s joints are 100% licky sucky fucky heaven, every one a damn classic! Don't test me now.

Girl with all the Gifts : ...is great! Though it had added flavour for me as much of it was shot in my neck o the woods (uk midlands) standing in for The Big Smoke.

I'm on the same page with you on that. I watched it with friends that loved it, but I just got sidetracked the whole time. It reminded me of Hanna (remember that one?), where the reveals actually suppressed the anticipation rather than ignited it.
