i think the main problem with these reissues is that there is a very small market in general. also i have the feeling that a lot of the most popular and desireable records have been reissued yet. it is not easy to reissue the most obscure stuff that only a couple of collectors are after considering that these special collectors accept the original issue only. even labels like Intervallo are not moving their records easily and they are limited to 300 copies only. (a little side note: today, there is about 7.418.000.000 on the planet.)
spoke to a friend who works at HHV about Sonor lately. apparently they do not sell very well and they have piles in their stock and not many want them. right now they have discounts on almost all titles up to 50% (!!!) which describes the current situation on the market quite well.
also from another point of view i would like to support a little more and buy a lot of stuff that i don't have but it's not possible to buy everything even if i think some of the recent labels are doing a great job. most of these labels have missed, what the best soundtrack reissue labels like Death Waltz have realized many years ago.
for me as a music collector there is absolutely no reason for purchasing a reissue if i have the original issue, unless the reissue label adds a little some fanciness (new cover art, chic package, unreleased bonus material, merge different volumes to one nice release or a box set,...)
for me Finders Keepers is doing an unbelievable job and i have the feeling this label be here forever. sometimes they compile the best stuff from artists one one release, add some fancy new art and have the best liner notes that you can read anywhere. just look at the Gerardo Iacoucci or the Daniela Casa compilation for example. quality over quantity. period.
