i always thought this one is a quite overseen De Wolfe title but when i look at the number of people who have it in their discogs want list i may be wrong.

Rubba is one of those imaginary bands where the real band players get covered up. possibly for contracting and licensing reasons. my guess is that the line-up is totally different on every album as the instruments obviously are. the thing is, if you like one particular Rubba record, it does not preserve you from absolutely hating other Rubba records if you understand what i am trying to say, haha!

anyway, i like this one a lot and it is composed by Jacky Giordano under his Joachim Sherylee pseudonym which he has used from the late 70s onwards. the music is different to his earlier work on Freesound, Sonimage or IM which he is famous for. the record is kind of proggy (Pink Floyd infuences?), synthetical (Tangerine Dream-esque?) but still very funky, jazzy and driving and maybe this is the reason why many different pepole are interested in it. it reflects the music from 1980 quite well in my opinion. again some kind people have uploaded most of the tunes on youtube. i like the B side a lot more for some reason...

was just listening to another covered up band called The Clear Light Band. another record composed by the great Jacky Giordano under the Joachim Sherylee pseudonym. this is actually bloody good and once on the platter it keeps rotating for several runs. stunning jazzy and funky record all the way through. when i hear this record, i can't believe how people can pay several hundred dollars for some obscure unlistenable shit, when this record outshines a lot of so called classic without hesitation.

highly recommended record that can be purchased for quite cheap if you have a little time. again full album up on youtube. well, almost full. the person that has uploaded it has removed two tunes (Highlights and Pick Up) for unknown reasons...

really like the selection, quite a colourful mix which consists of easy jazzy styles mainly. nice record that remindes me of the Vetrina Musicale series somehow...

This thread needs more Boneschi! An underated artist IMO, considering his output (a lot).
There is a ghostly surreal edge to his sound on these cam lps. I don't own any music by the caretaker but whenever I read descriptions of his music I always think of Boneschi, and the Great Ball Room in The Shining.

The tracks 'sisy' and 'new situation' are my favourites on this one, both give me a Lynch Twin Peaks vibe.

There's one more Boneschi that I own, it has the same title as the one you write about (!) but it's CmL044 and subtitled "Fantastic, futuristic music)". It is a great record, particularly "Saturn's Ambush", but the album is a great listen throughout:

Thank you for the pointers. These albums are quite different from the two I have, especially that elusive CmL 062 is much more soulful indeed. I have come across quite a few Boneschis in the wild when travelling in Italy recently so I'll keep my eyes peeled for you if/when I'll be there again.

also agreed on Boneschi! a really strong artist with a big output. always when i look at the listings at discogs i know that i don't know, haha!

if i had to recommend only one, it would be this one though. such an incredible record. easy & beautiful but not cheesy at all. so much magic in it! solid all the way through without any fillers. i would grade this as one of the 5 best electronic libraries that i have ever heard. listen to the soundclip with a good selection from the record. strangely my favourite track is not included...

just played another Jacky Giordano fake band output on De Wolfe. this one i actually like the most. the title says Play It Again and i take this term literally. once this is up the platter, it stays there for a while...

the fake bands name is Hot Fudge this time and was used for this particular record only. musically the style is super easy but not cheesy. light and rhythmic vibes that could have made it into a prono flick for example. the bands title would fit quite well IMHO. i would compare this record to Jacky Giordano Organ on IM even if the instrumentation is a little different...

the funny thing about this release is that Jacky Giordano has used his pseudonym Joachim Sherylee again but only on the cover of the record. on the label of side A it says J. Giordano in the brackets behind the tracks. again on side B it is J. Giordano for half of them and J.Sherylee for the rest. the perfect confusion if you ask me, haha!
