I took a punt on this cheap along with some other bits and have been pleasantly surprised. Bit funky rocky and bluesy and discoey :D.
All instrumental.
Bizarrely really reminds me of the early Telemusic library sound ala Pedersen,nilovic, Guiot, Dahan et Al.

I was a bit worried when the package arrived with a warp. Thankfully the vinyl is fine. Took @statics advice and gave it a good cleaning. Vinyl is fairly quiet, not bad. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this release.

Absolutely! perfect for a tired sunday morning. Had me feeling sonically baptised.

I didn't realise I had this at first, :) I picked it up at a charity shop/thrift store several years ago. After some hours digesting your initial post on obscure records, I had inkling I had this lp, my mind works slowly ;). needs a clean though! the record and my mind.
Think this will push me to get some others recommended in the series.

I think this movie could be a top contender for an STBC SYNC I have the arrow blue ray which looks outstanding. The Lance Henrikson interview in the extras is great. He explains how Sam Peckinpah, while filming, purposefully said as little as he possibly could in the movie so that he wouldn't need to later fly to Italy to record the audio dub, as the do in Italy, and just send his few spoken lines over on a tape in the post.

Also, Franco Nero as space jesus when the main theme kicks in is B-movie heaven.

This is a nice trip down memory lane as this score was the first record I ever bought. Must have been 8 or 9 and I used to spin it on my dad's turntable. The film was still huge at the time in Germany and they showed the extended version as a mini series on TV. Don't have that record anymore, got lost when I moved house sometime.
In any case this was well worth double-dipping.

@Chris - Das Boot is such an excellent film/series. I did not see it when I was young, as I believe the US "film cut" had a Restricted rating in the US, which seems a bit ridiculous looking back on it now. I also do not remember seeing an edited version for television, but perhaps there was one released that I missed. Anyway, it's great to see your appreciation for it, and especially since it was the first record you ever purchased.
