@Dollar take special note of Nyman. Not only does he appear in that group of Eno albums, but he worked on Ravenous (as @Scojo pointed out) and some other favorites of mine. Prospero's Books... The Cook, The thief, His Wife & Her Lover... Gattaca, and an absolute fav The Piano. :)

I decided on a pre-work viewing of Arrow's release of Bay of Blood. The German redhead has to have the sexiest and most unconvincing death in cinema.

With the recent purchase of Hot Fuzz at SDCC I had to rewatch Hot Fuzz on Netflix last night.

Truly one of my favorite films, MW.

Watched NotLD in a theater last evening with a friend in the Emerald City. It was a lively crowd (they serve food and cocktails), but a really good time. Seemed cathartic for a lot of folks.

The people from Arrow Video had a merch stand at the Fantasia Festival last weekend. I picked up a lot of stuff man. the Re-Animator boxset, Female Prisoner Scorpion boxset (although I've heard the picture quality isn't really good on that one, but I really wanted to own the set and get the extras... I already had the DVDs. I'll be compairing them soon), also got Mark of the devil, Bloodstained Shadow, Blood and Black Lace, Cops and Thugs, Madhouse, Bride of Re-Animator and the Kiju Yoshida Love + Anarchism Boxset. So Ill be watching all that soon enough ^_^

They're going to be back next weekend so if anyone wanted to get some titles, they had special discount prices for the Fantasia Fest, i could pick some up. they had a promo of 5 movies (2 discs blu+dvd editions of single movies) for 100$ cad, the Hellraiser box for 60$cad, Re-Animator 30$cad...

I'm trying to decide what to watch this afternoon. My website is doing a 100 Years of Jack Kirby month in August and I am trying to do related films. So far I've done Fantastic Four (2015), Captain America: The First Avenger and the DC doc Necessary Evil: Supervillains in DC Comics (it talks briefly about Darkseid).

I'm thinking of doing either Comic Book Confidential or the Animated Superman/ Batman: Apocalypse next so one of those might get a watch.


More than likely though, I'll watch an 80s horror film and bludge.

Just watched Dunkirk in 70mm film projection. Quite an intense experience overall. The story sets off at a clip and does not really let up until the very end. I have no idea how the majority of it was filmed, as it just seems to be an incredible in-your-face capture of the historical action via land, sky, and sea. Seeing it projected on film might have added to that sensation, but I was not distracted by anything at all resembling CGI. Also, I felt that Zimmer was really twisting the tension screws -- at times I could not tell if the wailing sounds were screaming dive bomber engines, sirens, or merely Zimmer's organs. Great film, and I can't wait to see it again. Highly recommended.

I just finished watching Superman/ Batman: Apocalypse to review it for my blog (I'm having a Jack Kirby month to commemorate his 100th birthday if he were still alive and am doing reviews that relate to his comics).

Now I'm going to watch a slasher but can't pick one... maybe Halloween 4 as I've not watched it for years.

Sounds great. Hope to see this soon as well. Big part was filmed about 200km from where I live. Well Dunkirk is only 275km from here.
