Jerry Goldsmith died 13 years ago today. I'm at work and will be spinning as much of his work as I can, starting with this one.

Obscure Harlem deep funk/soul banger. Have never been able to track down an original copy. It's five star stuff for sure. They had the one album and two singles. Someone ought to try to track down tapes (probably long gone), really deserves like a LITA-style top notch restoration & reissue.

If you're a Slasher Film Festival Strategy fan and really loved Christopher Ashley's first release Crimson Throne I highly recommend these two "sequels", Crimson Cavern and Lunar Temple.

@static, I went with the Leopard print splatter. Hope it sounds good. Almost backed out with the price but figured I'd regret it if I didn't get it. :)

tim28212 wrote:@deaf, wasn't on my radar either. Not sure I would have talked David into going to Atlanta, Ga for it though. ;)
Yeah, I would have tried to get down to California to catch one of the shows, but there is just no way I could pull it off right now. Glad at least one forum member was able to attend though.

Yeah it was a bit pricey but well worth it. I had goose bumps for like three hours :)

@Dollar - How are those Yōkai demon tunes, or the film itself? I need to check it out, as I love the idea of inanimate household objects turning into demons. Also, thank you for posting the Makai Tenshoh OST. I will try to track down some samples.

Sunday afternoon shenanigans:

Don't miss this reissue, if possible. I would put it up there with The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue for a great mix of creepy atmosphere and fuzz/funk.

@deaf

I'm still learning about the yokai trilogy. The insert has some truly mental scenes and posters from the films which makes me really want to see them. The music is very weird and creepy it's typical in style to most kaiju osts but very very good in that style. lots of theremin like sounds, a couple of nice suspense 'hip hop', dare I say it, style tracks but no funk or fuzz.

Makai Tenshoh I got cheap with some other stuff but I was surprised how enjoyable it was kind of proggy funky rocky sounds with a Japanese folk twist, great drums. Should be able to find it for not to much.

Don't sleep on the Kikaider 01 Bgm though! fuzzy and funky and other goodness. It can be got for a good price too, not hard to find.
