Excellent spins, Bez!

Been a fan of Italian cinema since I was in my late teens. However, some 10 years ago I was a bit tired of the Gialli, good, bad and ugly zombi flicks, etc. but then I discovered the Poliziotteschi (incl. the scores) - what a joy, Maurizio Merli was the man. I think Napoli Spara is still my favourite but guess I will need to revisit some of those sometime soon to see how I feel now.

Thanks to the graciousness of @Dollarhyde who threw this in with a recent LP that I purchased from him, as he thought I might dig it. And dig it I do!

Fumitaka Anzai - Synthesizer Fantasy. It's a concept album in the Columbia 'Digital Trip' series, based on the sci-fi anime JUMA (Legend). Pretty stirring stuff - great washes of synth with new age-y piano, then some big pipe organ and timpanis. A touch of YMO/Sakamoto in the tracks on Side A. Good stuff.

I just flat out freakin love this soundtrack. Could play it every day and not tire of it's charms....completely inseparable from the movie, and enhances it to the max. Friedkin's sleeve notes are quite effusive!

As you know, I also treasure this one. In fact, and against my general rules, I have a sealed LP and cassette of this set aside in perpetuity for when (not if) the rest of The World finally catches on and the dollar bins are appropriately raided. Now that Summer is truly upon us, I don't expect many days will pass where this isn't on the deck for at least a side. What a slow burn fucking stunner!

I really love this soundtrack. I immediately rip the vhs on a K7 to get the unpublished songs. Already I was a fool at the time. Using the pause button I used to delete the dialogs keeping the time signature exactly. At the first take. I hope sooner or later someone will publish a full edition of this score. On summer evenings I still put the CD on the stereo when driving my red Barchetta but I must say that tracks like 'City of the angels' not encouraging a prudent driving ....

This is fantastic.

PS - Can you even imagine how great a complete score release would be? I'd pop.

Well its One Side Saturday here at Del Casa Del J.R..... and again I can't post pics... must be my connection, I'm guessing, but so far we have enjoyed:

Welcome to the Pleasuredome - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Easy Pieces - Lloyd Cole and the Commotions
Harry Styles' self titled debut
and now a weird mixed thing called Cafe Society which has stuff like Dan Hartman, Taco, Phil Collins and other songs that apparently the 'Cafe Society' would enjoy.

Weird thing is I am getting Instagram pics loading: odd. https://www.instagram.com/the_amazing_jr/

Great spins guys! @ScoJo glad you dug Juma.

Need that Wang chung bad! And need to see and hear 'The Mission'.

Now spinning this one after watching the rather good BBC4 series on Japanese art history.
Ryohei Hirose - Utamaro's World OST
1977 Victor VIP-7233

The discogs description says Jazz funk which is misleading. Still, a beautiful and brilliant score with very oriental tones.
Really want to see the film.

Great spins, everybody - seems you are all on fire.
Love the Wang Chung and would love the Japanese Phantasm (great cover and If I'm not mistaken it has a different mix and even a different sounding main theme).

Am on holiday for a week - so no spins but some sun & beach life instead.

@Dollar: Is there already any info when Akira will be released?
