another little gem from the Peer label. the cover would make you think this must be some of the toughest spy jazz libraries ever but i think it does not match the music too well. some of the tunes have a good dose of spy drama but most of the stuff is easy, funky & jazzy. great record, from start to finish though...

recently i was checking Brian Bennett's discogs entries. without being aware of, i found out that i own like 70% of his library output. his contribution to the Bruton and KPM catalogue is massive and impressive.

for me this Bruton record is one of his masterpieces. big compositions and the describtion on back cover says: a penetrating study of nature. and that's what it is. beautiful and rich composition. highly recommended! can be found fairly cheap...

Still need to get that voyage lp of his. It got a legit reissue from the master tapes not so long ago I believe.

Also just realised Ian Langley is Anthony King damn those library pseudonyms.

lovely record composed by the german library heroes Peter Thomas and Roland Kovac. super nice concept on this one. you all know these big city concept libraries where dealers push weight and the pimp daddies slap their hookers all night? well...this one is different. it's about when the hustlers and their families come for a friendly visit during the daytime, rocking big jewlery, shopping for the flyest gear and buying loads of ice cream for their kids...

Vladimir Cosma is a well known for famous scores but he made some incredible library music on the Patchwork label, too. this record is absolutely bonkers and you would not expect this to be from 1985. i'm a huge fan of his suspense releases on Patchwork and can recommend any of them without hesitation. on this particular release the 4+ minutes hazy cue Mile's Mood is my favourite but the whole record is very good. grab it if you see a cheap copy...

Ahh....Trevor Duncan. He composed the original score for La Jetee. Which I've had reason to 'interface' with quite a bit

He was pretty prolific in the UK library scene during the 60's I'm keen to here more of his stuff.

aw man! i think i don't have one single release from the Booswy & Hawkes label so far but i have the feeling that the label keeps some unheard treasuers. one day, haha!

so classic, so simplistic, so powerful, so good. the analogue recording technique and the sound quality is sublime. one of the best electronic libraries if you ask me.

i never got into any other Bernard Fevre like into this. Devils Disco and Suspense are just not for me, don't ask why. will probably stuck with this for the rest of my life , haha!

Nice! Curious to know the quality of the reissue.

I think there are a t least a few treasures on the boosey and hawkes label, and then there is always the saying one man's trash is another man's treasure :D
