I haven't had it on the cleaner yet but so far it isn't bad. Side 1 had some crackle for about 5 rotations but it cleared up. Side 2 is good so far. I don't have it at my normal playing volume (David is trying to sleep) so I may not be getting the full picture but no regrets yet. Of course the music it great. JC has more of the guitar/rock thing going with his part of the score as opposed to the synth he had in EFNY. And Shirley Walker is adding her touch very nicely.

So glad I finally picked up a copy. It just might be my new favorite 10". The quality of the OST/library curation for this film is just top-notch. I also really enjoy the locked grooves. They sound great on my copy, and could easily be mixed or sampled. Excellent release. I have already flipped it twice. Side A is dreamy, especially the Morricone track with Edda.

It also really whet my appetite for Nicolai's La Coda Della Scorpione all over again though. That DWRC 2LP is such a treat.

ScoJo was posting over on Twitter about evil Amazon but I was able to find this gem at a very reasonable price there so they can't be all bad. :) Right?

Pretty huge set (4 discs!) of Zimmerman covers by the likes of Steve Malkmus, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Calexico, Karen O, Los Lobos....even Willie Nelson!

I'm really starting to like Mr. Desplat.

I first noted Mr Desplat's work on Birth and then Ghost Writer - both superb scores that I'd have loved to get on my Chosen Format™, but am happy enough to listen digitally. His Moonrise Kingdom is also a big fave, though sadly only a 10" of themes so far from that one. Speaking of which....

What the heck happened to that Wes Anderson vinyl box set?? Hmmmm.....forgotten all about that, and now I'm bummed that it obvs didn't happen/is unlikely to.

Some really great stuff on that soundtrack @ScoJo. Even the ones that are pretty faithful to the originals don't seem like pointless re-treads. I haven't double-dipped for the vinyl though, always something else at the top of my 'wants' (currently trying to justify £40 for EFLA when I could get 2-3 others for the same cost).

@chief - seen the green splatter EFLA on Amazon UK for £35 via Rarewaves USA, if it helps. Cheapest I've seen on these shores.

A moment of quiet reflection this Sunday morning.

Picked this Vangelis Antarctica score up recently from a Japanese Discogs seller for reasonable £ (although it took a 2nd postal attempt, with the package re-routed back via Japan to actually arrive, but that's another story).

Was attracted by sounds very reminiscent of the Blade Runner score... this is circa 1984 so I'm guessing a lot of the same electronics used... after the Worried About Satan guys used one of the tracks in an online mix they did. Uplifting stuff.

Skip to 1.51 approx and you'll see what I mean:

@spun, beautiful, and added to the want list. Thankyou.

In a similarly reflective mood spinning the hyper light drifter OST 4xlp box set by Disasterpeace, Truly knockout stuff.
The album actually works well spread across 4 lps, it kind of makes the whole thing more digestible. My discs are slightly dished. But still plays fine with some weight on the centre.
Great package and nice dynamic mastering, although maybe slightly too loud.

Cheers for that @spun. Slightly cheaper still off their ebay store, so that's EFLA off the list. I'll be adding Antarctica to the list now too. Damn this thread, this forum and you people!
