First time listen for a recent pick-up. Beautiful so far. With the odd 'saloon bar' piano team thrown in.

(can't get the photo I took to upload. I'm going to need to look into imgr).

Took me that long to find a usable image for DoR that I'm now listening to this.

Really, really like this record, Chief. Copies out there can be had for a song, too.

I'll drink to that @mateo. The cover looks like it was taken with one of those keyring digital cameras, but it's a good, clean pressing (black! Hurrah). I think my copy was less than £10 - not to be missed at that price.

I just finished spinning Moomins for about the 10th time since I got it, so great. I finally read the liner notes this morning, really interesting read.

Original, I'm happy to say! I had all three of his albums as a teen but sold them in, what I call, the 'Great Idiotic Cull of '95'. Slowly but surely getting a lot of those records back. My next one is Scritti Politti's Cupid and Psyche '85!

If I could get the EP I once had again I'd be stoked. A 4 track with Perfect Skin, Forest Fire, Speedboats and 4 Flights Up (I think, 'twas an eternity ago).

Another fantastic 80's album - the slick use of synths & electronic instrumentation on that was revolutionary at the time and still sounds massive.

A lot of 80s stuff sounds 'of its time' today; it was the decade of a lot of musical cheesiness, of course... but the two albums you've chosen would still sound fresh if released now.

My daughter is 20 and has been brought up on 80s music and whenever she finds a new artist she thinks I like, I'm proud to say ill get things like 'imagine Susanne Vega's voice over The Edge's guitars' or 'if Stock Aitken and Waterman made an indie rap album, this is what it would sound like'.

I have to admit to shedding a proud tear whenever she hits me with one of those.

I'm off to watch the first episode of American Gods now. Let's see what Brian Reitzel has been doing for the music of the show.

@J.R. - Those conversations sound incredibly rewarding and like a lot of fun.

@Nathan - I really like that Under The Skin LP. Still haven't seen the movie, of course, but the music is golden.

@Mateo - In all seriousness, I do recommend the film. It's dark, twisted, and just weird af. It also seems to be a not-too-subtle love letter to ScarJo's figure, so treat that as either a boon or a warning to avoid watching with the missus. Either way, check it out sometime.

It's a great movie and score. I recommend watching it, Mateo. I know a few people left the screening room when I saw it in theater, it's not for everyone, but those people are wrong.

@Deaf & Nate - Thanks for the affirming words, lads. Sounds right up my alley and I'll no doubt enjoy it. Now, to find the damn time...
