It would be nice if the Collider article included the tracklisting. Y'know, if it's not too much trouble? Some people actually listen to these things. Although they don't have much info on the vinyl beyond "180g colored" so some record framer is probably miffed about that. Where's LazyBen when you need him?

I'm probably going to buy one of these despite being on record as not a huge Goldsmith fan as I do like this score, not quite sure whether to go 2lp or 4lp yet, I can't say I like either set of artwork so that's not really helping...

The bluray has an isolated score for both the original AND the final cues, was it the same options on the DVD? Mine is long since given away.

I'm sure that's exactly where that boot came from.

I'm watching the making of feature on the blur now...listening to Dan obannon talk about his POV on the dune project after just rewatching that documentary is hysterical....

Really cool of them to go all out with that 4LP- just insanely awesome- but that artwork is some of the worst they've ever asked money for holy shit. A new low since the neon blood filled discs Aliens bullshit birthed last year.

Stout is definitely one of their more polarizIng artists, probably only second to WBYK.

I think that his style is cool for big ensemble pieces and when viewed at a distance so it all comes together, but I agree that sometimes his style doesn't work for some things, especially when it's always going to be viewed so close. I think his interior sleeve art is awesome and I'm wearing his shirt for last year's alien day now, but the cover image is almost to close-in for his style to really jive.

I do like it though, but I'm not in love with it, he's not a minimalist designer, and unless you go the full giger (it's like the full Monty....but you know, terrifying) or ape that style almost like the Eng covers (xeno head shape not withstanding, sorry) then it needs something simple, which may not be stouts strength.

Totally agreed! And just like others mentioned, I'm buying for the audio primarily and always. Packaging's a plus (caring more about the material than the imagery) but just... Compared to how great the earlier ALIENS release looks, it's really off putting to the point of annoyance- which is odd when you're working with established properties with decades of iconography.

I'd say that it was very unlikely seeing as this is a timed release which is not going to be repressed. They will press as many as are ordered and that's it.

Once you see they included the wrong alien design on the standard 2LP cover, you cannot unsee. LMAO. Of all the ways to treat ALIEN fans, they didn't use Giger's for the key art!

the funny part is that those details on the head ARE part of the original design, all he needs to do is draw a smooth line for the translucent carapace over it and it would be fine haha.

I'm hesitating on the 4 LP...How many times will I go back and break out LP 3 and 4 for those alternate cues/OST?

The artwork for both versions doesn't have those "Alien" implications that I have in my head...some kind of inert...cream colored hallway..violent simplicity.

And it is still early on...maybe the alien on the cover of the 2LP can be changed to the one seen in the film..
