this one starts with a quite lame A side but it gets interesting with the last few cues. B side is really great. it reminds me of the funkiest late 70s electronic works of Umiliani, Boneschi or Safred.

couldn't resist to spin another great Selected Sound record. again Roland Kovac is involved. did not hear all his Selected Sound output but i have the feeling you can never fail with any of these LP's...

title says Modern Cartoon Sounds and i would love to see some cartoons with these strangely beautiful sounds in it. experimental jazz and funk electronics would describe this record best. from the discogs review i have learned that Jonny Trunk has sampled the Bottle Ghost cue for one of his LP's and i have to admit, it was not one of his worst moves. well done! (see below)

after going through the last two Gerhard Trede records that i own i must admit that my brain is almost completely melted. the Electronic Fields is a dark experimental mix accompanied by some fuzz and psychedelic elements. reminds me of the Ruscigan on Liuto somehow. Montage continues in the same vein but the cues are longer, more beat driven and have a clear song structure (sometimes, haha!).

i would love to know if there way anything on TV that used some of these cues. if yes, it must be something very odd...

finally had some time to hear two recent reissues that i got. again Schema and Cinedelic prove what solid labels they are. the Nell'Anno Della Luna was unknown to me and it is a fantastic record! do not know much about the composer Gino Conte and the music on this library is as good as it was composed by the usual italian suspects. the fact the Schema releases come with a [quality] CD with alternate bonus takes is just nuts. some other recent reissue labels that mess with libraries have to learn....

also i never purchased Tempo Sospeso because for me it was not worth the $100 the most dealers are asking for. i am really happy to have purchased the recent Cinedelic reissue because it's top quality again. ultra thick cardboard, heavy vinyl pressing is sounding great plus the cover art is bonkers and i think it is much better than the original one. they did a great job and have included a photo of Nicolai in his studio. well done. these labels are on fire...

@milliondollars Glad the Conte and Nicolai are both sounding great! I have both on order and just waiting for them to arrive still.

I totally agree on Schema and Cinedelic just killing it recently. I've especially been grabbing almost all the Schema stuff, mainly because it's just devoid of any bullshit and packs in a lot of bang for your buck. My turntable has been getting repaired for the last few weeks, so those bonus CDs are really saving me right now.

Overall, though, I just think the curating going on Schema is just awesome, so happy to give them all my money. I can't help but fall into Four Flies' honeypot as well and that of AMS when they are feeling soundtracky.

another nice Roland Kovac record from the Selected Sound catelogue. there is no doubt this was not supposed to be a library record. seems like he did not find a label to release the music on this record. it sounds like a flawless european psychedelic album with a jazzy proggy touch, made somewhere in the early 70s. and actually thats exaclty what it is. this must be the reason why so many different people look for it. Kovac is another uncrowned musical genius whos versatility seems to be endless...

really love these timeless classic Jacky Giordano's on L'Illustration Musicale. even after a long time i still enjoy them and probably will for the next decades. the albums are solid gold all the way through and it is a wonder they have not been reissued yet...
