I was always worried that gif-posting knowledge would be too much for you to handle.

It took a bit longer than a week. But the deck is installed!

I've been told that happens to lots of guys and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

So, further news of that tape promised early June..!

Very excited about this one...

Our second collaboration with Wojciech Golczewski on a release of one of his fantastic spacey synth scores... and our first collab with Lakeshore Records.

Pre-orders currently up at Transmission Records for the two variants:

Press release in full:

Film composer Wojciech Golczewski’s captivating electronic synth score for sci-fi drama ‘400_Days’ released on ltd cassette by Spun Out Of Control

Spacey synths and dramatic musical motifs combine for what we consider to be the fast rising Polish composer’s finest film score to date, for director Matthew Osterman’s science fiction thriller ‘400_Days’.

Golczewski’s second release for the label Spun Out Of Control, which put out his previous score ‘Dark Souls’ on cassette in early 2017, this soundtrack has been licensed exclusively from Lakeshore Records for cassette release. Listened to away from any visuals, it proves a captivating piece of music in its own right – and one we’re thrilled to be releasing on limited edition cassette. Dubbed onto high quality chrome tape, there are two eye-catching variants: White Shell with Silver Spaceman print, plus ‘Stars & Stripes’ (red, silver and blue glitter). A download card is included.

The film from which the score originates is a psychological sci-fi thriller centering on four astronauts, sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel. Locked away for 400 days, the crew’s mental state begins to deteriorate when they lose all communication with the outside world. Forced to exit the ship, they discover that this mission may not have been a simulation after all. Golczewski’s score masterfully conveys the mood of uncertainty and tension, as well as featuring some very pretty ambient passages that will please fans of contemporary synth and modern classical scores, such as Cliff Martinez’s music for Solaris and Steven Price’s Oscar winning compositions for Gravity.

Wojciech Golczewski on his score for ‘400_Days’:

“This score was created to set the general mood and atmosphere, especially important for the first half of the film. It’s claustrophobic, dizzy and brings all that stuff that can happen while you’re locked for so long in a small space with few other people to the surface. That is what I tried to underline with the music.”

@Spun - Nice, especially as Golczewski seems to have the Midas Touch on the keys. That is amazing in itself, but the man just seems to produce copious amounts of great material. Is he human?

Good on ya, Spun. New WoGo is good WoGo. When do I get to put my peepers on those two variants, mang?

Wojciech did mention in passing needing to recharge his batteries. I took that as his having been working hard on his composing.

But... maybe he meant *literally* needing to recharge his batteries, as in a MACHINE.

Think you may be on to something @Deaf!

@Mateo - Variants should be landing with me soon, then will take some funky pics. Rest assured tho', they will indeed bring the heat. ;)

Transmission already sold out of the glitter, but the white & silver is pretty cool too.

Interesting. What's the scoop with Transmission doing the presale? Are you still marketing through 2HD and your Bandcamp page?

Transmission were first off the blocks with their pre-order, so as they'd already announced it publicly, made sense to direct people there... other outlet announcements will follow :)
Ah. Understood. Cheers, Spun.

Hey @Bez

Cheers for the support, fella. Now looking at next Saturday June 10th for go at our end... get the nonsense around the UK General Election out of the way first ;)

Incidentally, on a general note, because we've licensed this one & under terms of said license, we won't be offering a standalone digital purchase option this time around. Never fear tho', those buying the tapes either from us or at retail will get the digital files via download card.

Our pals Norman Records have just put their own pre-order up today. Nice folks to shop with:
https://www.normanrecords.com/records/1 ... ki-400days

Cool mini review from them too, putting Wojciech in the company of some great artists:
"Wojciech Golczewski’s intensely driving score to Matt Osterman’s sci-fi thriller 400 Days. Landing in the realms of Mogwai’s Atomic, with a Fuck Buttons fuzzy edge Golczewski’s score is a cinematic piece that stands strongly on its own."
