went through a lot of KPM, digging for underwater gold. found a little something and will post in the underwater thread later...

had to play this one after a very long absence. this is a great title from the catalogue. many people mention Afro Rock and Big Beat in the same breath but i don't think Big Beat deserves too much shine. too poppy, too bright, too overhyped and nowadays too overprized. i can live very well without it. (not to be mixed up with Nick Ingman's Big Beat on De Wolfe which is a whole different story)

Wide variety of themes on this double LP by Reverberi bros on the miniscule "AL Capone" label. The funny thing is I could swear it reuses some of the electronic experimentations of Sorgini from UST 270 Nei Confini, not the whole tracks just snippets as components of a couple of the tracks. I hear it in #8 and #10. The sound is really varied, from sweet themes fitting for @millions undersea thread to a hard open drum break track in 7/8 time. In fact cues #19-25 and #28-34 are all drums. But the more subtle cues are best imho. The cover is pretty neat too. There are graphical depictions of the cues on the front and rear, and in the middle of the gatefold there are text descriptions for each.

Tommaso library on the Iller label, different themes for various craftsman. About half of the tracks are good, the rest not my favorites. Artigianato Africano and Artigianato Orientale are probably the best. Il Pescatore sounds like it belongs on @million's underwater page.

Varied set of tracks all penned by Brugnolini under pseudonym Narassa. The A side is pretty strong. I don't care as much for the B side except for the open drum track "Drumming Beat" with some good breaks.

Enjoying this Piccioni, it's great start to finish and has two or three tracks from Colpo Rovente. Man, I'd love to get an original of that one some day, although the reissue from a couple years ago is very good.

did not hear it for years and had to play it because you have mentioned some underwater cues being on there. i don't really hear any underwater on this record, maybe i will give it another spin.

a friend of mine found like 5 or 6 copies in a dollar bin, that's why i have it. just found the record on discogs and almost laughed myself to death when i have realized people pay from 120 to 200 € for a record that is not worth more than 20 €, haha!
people need to wake up. i mean there is good library outside italy, too...

Track A8 /Sequence 8 for the underwater cue. Also I agree 120-200 is too much, but also it isn't a $20 record unless you got lucky in Europe and found someone who didn't know it was a Reverberi private pressing!

i would say they are quite similar. maybe vol.1 is a little better.




they are very rare and they sell for big money as a bunch of unlucky fellows pay like everything for italian libraries, regardless of what they sound like, haha!

nice one! i hope somebody is going to do a good job on that one. i think it is a little overhyped but still one of Weiss' best. there are some equally good that don't cost that much. i think the reason why Time Signals is so overhyped is the Gaslamp Killer video (see below). been playing a lot of Klaus Weill recently...
