a couple more Varese Sarabande added to the collection. Both are worth having but I must say, I'm sad I waited so long to get The Clan of the Cave Bear. It's a really fine score from Mr. Silvestri.

Amen, Tim. Terrible news. A true talent and a great late-in-life success story. The kind of human one feels compelled to root for. The documentary Miss Sharon Jones! is well worth anyone's time. Due to work, I had to pass on an opportunity to see her in the Spring at an intimate venue, but was lucky enough to catch her opening for Hall & Oates in late Summer. Very glad I did. RIP Miss Jones. I have a feeling your Christmas LP will get a lot of play this year.

PS - I read the news while watching an old performance of Leonard Cohen on Austin City Limits from '89 and pondering his contributions to my small existence. These are coming in thick and heavy. I'm very grateful to be here myself, but 2016 has been a bit of a stinker.

@Evan - Nice one! Did you pick that up recently in an auction? If so, great to see that it went to a forum member. ;)

Afternoon everybody, inspiring to see people spinning vinyl:

@Evan - Pretty sure you or @ScoJo tipped me off on this Fred Myrow gem. I thought I had seen every 70's/80's film with skateboarding included, but I missed this one. Great stuff:

Kenny & Co is such a fun listen. I think that was joint instigation between scott and I. :)

ImageSuper-thick gatefold sleeve on the original Polydor Japan release of this Christian Gaubert OST. Lovely jazzfunk treasures are tucked within the moodier pieces:

La lama nel corpo - Francesco De Masi
Wow! This I would really love to have. Is it the full LP? On Discogs only the 7" is added to the database.

@Mateo,

Agreed, and that Toshinoro kondo Lp is one of his best although not so well known. Still plan on picking up a copy one day, along with his meiso lp.

Love it! Great little fun Dutch 80s horror. Tim, did you know that the director/composer did a US remake in 2001, featuring Naomi Watts, Michael Ironside, Ron Perlman and Dan Hedaya??!

@milliondollars,
Not seen that video before. MTV was not so easy to come by in the UK around those times, well for me anyway.

Reminds me of those chill out VHS tapes you could by around that time,or maybe a little earlier, the CG in those was worse :) always had FSOL and Ambient works vol. 1 stuff on them.

But agreed Dj Cam released some brilliant stuff, I wish I had more of it, I do have a few remixes of his also.
You know that thing where you didn't own anything by a certain artist because your mates had already bought them, this happened with dj Cam for me, Aphex Twin also :P

@Bez & ScoJ - De Lift and Amsterdamned are awesome movies. I had to *ahem* borrow them in order to watch them back in the day, but now they stream in the USA on occasion.

@milliondollar(s)hyde - DJ Cam is excellent. Lost Kingdom was on repeat for me back in the mid-nineties. I have all of his music through 2000 or so, but then we parted ways. I should go back and try some of his live instrumentation and Soulshine stuff again; maybe it would resonate more with me now.
