I received "Behold the Abyss" by Those Poor Bastards yesterday & it's great! Definitely going to be ordering "The Plague" & "Gospel Haunted" LPs soon.

Should be receiving the split pic LP by DeathStench/Trepaneringsritualen on Malignant Records later in the week.

Picked this up after seeing it on Spencer's year end list.

Not a soundtrack but really could be.

Ricardo Donoso - As Iron Sharpens Iron - fluro pink vinyl.

New Pixies EP:

Vast improvement over EP1, but Frank's view that Greens and Blues (lovely as it is) is a Gigantic-beater is a tad wide of the mark.

Also Ed Harcourt's new (& spooky) Mini LP Time Of Dust is rather fantastic - 1s and 0s for now, vinyl out in Feb

Looking forward to going shopping on Monday - Bill Callahan (dub!), Snowbird, Mogwai. And maybe Warpaint too if I'm feeling saucy.

The Guardian is doing a stream of the Mogwai one for UK types at the mo (and a Solaris mix!), it's sounding very good - follows on nicely from their Les Revenants soundtrack from last year which I absolutely loved.

For my metal friends I highly recommend Beast in the Field. Instrumental black/stoner/doom. The packaging on their LP's is really unusual and elaborate. The music itself is just extremely heavy. A 2 piece, guitar and drums. Have seen them live and it's almost too loud to handle really. YouTube video below

I grabbed Space Lady's Greatest Hits, but unfortunately missed out on the spatter coloured vinyl by going with a local retailer. I don't often go into buying a special edition after I've bought the regular, but since I'd been waiting for this release for so long, I may seek one out.

Also picked up The Emerald Web: The Stargate Tapes in that same batch.

I highly recommend them both.

Did your La Porta Ermetica-Alessandro Parisi look like it was borrowed by that guy who doesn't know how to handle Lps then shipped by the same guy when it arrived - Thankfully it is just a blank sleeve and the record...albeit had a good amount of stuff and fingerprints all over wasn't broken...cleaned up just fine

@hncreature haha I DID think it was unusually dirty when it arrived, but I guess given the trip from Austria to Detroit I should be thankful it's in one piece.
I do wonder about Giallo Discos's preference to not use cover art for their LP covers and go the techno route with just plain black or white sleeves. Perhaps it's a matter of keeping costs low or maybe a statement to just to keep it about the music. Would have loved to read some liner notes though about the artist, recording, etc. oh well.

The record did sound great, so I salute GD for another fine release

Should have had the new Bill Callahan, I Break Horses and Sleepy Sun records by now, but they've all been delayed. Someone somewhere needs to invest in new pressing plants.

On a cheerier note, new Sun Kil Moon CD has arrived today, 10 days early.
