Agreed Vapormeyer, a quick listen on YouTube tells you how important these releases are. Sheer encompassing bliss. Ordered mine last week from norman for very slightly less, £119.

Excellent. Really looking forward to these. Ordered mine through Amazon as I had some vouchers. Bought the download recently through Beep and it's been my travelling to work music every morning for the last few weeks. Perfect.

Nice to see some love for Wolfgang Voigt on this forum. Voigt is one of my favorite electronic music artists (talk about being prolific!). I purchased all the original Gas albums on Mille Plateux when they were released in the late 90's. I really had no idea there were selling for such high amounts of money, but I definitely understand the attraction to this project. Highly recommended!

Gahhh this board will be the death of my wallet!! That box looks mighty nice.

This new Lee Moses reissue from Light In The Attic is essential, stone cold. I wasn't in the know to catch the 2007 reissue. Think these color ones are now only available in secondary but there will be plenty of black vinyl copies. It is an amazing record, I had no idea. This is never going to be far from the table.

Never heard of Wolfgang Voigt, but this looks incredible. I have no money to throw at this box, but I'm putting it on my wish list for the future.
Always love box sets.

How about his alias, Mike Ink? Early 90's acid techno, which is where I started following his output. He really branched out into more ambient and experimental realms (Studio1, etc.), and the Gas project was one of the best examples of that. Realistically though, you would need to be able to listen to a soft 4/4 kick drum for 12+ minute ambient tracks... if you're into that. I find it to be heavenly. ;)

Agreed. And I'm sure my mind adds notes which aren't there whilst listening to these epic tracks. Reminds me of Basinski quite a bit too in parts.

I love it to bits, definitely the best series I've seen in a long, long time. I haven't bought anything yet but will hold out for the box set. As long as it's not liquid filled with lightbulbs on.

Shot of the retail looked like a nice smokey clear. Personally I think the record should have to be played upside down....wait...hang on....I've confused myself.

I had to bust these out after hearing about the new box set (which looks keen, but expensive!):

I also have the 12" Gas - Modern EP on Profan somewhere in the stacks, but I would really have to dig for that one.

I also recommend the Pop Ambient series on Kompakt, which showcases a lot of different artists. If you want to dive into Voigt's experimental minimal techno, check out the Studio 1 series on Profan, or the Auftreib and Freiland sub-labels of Kompakt. Great material for both clearing or filling dancefloors depending on the various factors at play.

thats worth a look for sure. I have a multi LP (number escapes me right now) set of music from his films that I love, and an original Yojimbo that I came across for significantly less than it should have been.
