Normally I'd say The Beyond without hesitation, but you've got me all riled up about Night Flier so that's the pick.

Hahaha, seriously though, i know what you mean. i had a brief resurgence of that kind of movie stamina during the last big snow storm I got hit with where I watched argents's entire filmography from bird with... to opera in basically a day and a half, but these days i find my self so busy and or tired that it takes me at least two nights to watch one flick.

I can understand the stamina issue. I'm of a mind to watch Batman V Superman, but the nearly three hour running time will probably stave off my misguided urge. Of course, Hateful Eight was quite long and I lapped that up so I guess it's a case-by-case basis with me.

Nothing really compares to L'ADILA, but, if memory serves, there is a lovely slow burn to THE NIGHT FLIER.

I'm glad you guys egged me on to make a night of it. Good choices. If anything, it would've been better to watch The Night Flier before The Beyond - keeping the classic til last.

@hatter, I remember seeing the updates on your Argento odyssey. Impressive stuff.

I feel I might want to seek out all of the Fulci's that I can and have a 'Fulci Season' - there are many I haven't seen, and of the ones I have, I've not seen them enough times!

The ending of Night Flier was soooo Beyond-ish feeling, with quite a bit of The Mask thrown in for good measure! Loved it. Actually creeped me out quite a bit :/

Never seen The Night Flier. Very curious now. And L'Adila is a masterpiece. Love that film. I bought the Anchor Bay limited tin box DVD release about 15 years ago I think. Great release that was.

Indeed. Excellent score. and a reissue is needed pronto! (I am looking at you Death Waltz!)



And the movie is not bad either. A bit crazy but I think that is one of the meanings of giallo :-)

It's been a long time, but this flick left quite an impression on a young Mateo. On a far more interesting note, it is helmed by Geoff Murphy who made one of the finest science fiction films of the 1980s, if not ever, The Quiet Earth. Oh, shit! Gotta go. Mick Jagger is about to power up the encoder and drag Emilio to the far future of 2009...

Now watching: space sheriff shaider episode 1 via youtube, I love the effects in these TV shows, 'Tokusatsu'as they say in Japan. Comes with a rather nifty OST to boot!

Oh, man, I can't say enough about The Quiet Earth, Dollarhyde. It's a fantastic bit of contemplative fiction. Freejack is another breed of cat entirely, but it's loads of fun and relatively star-studded for 1992. Estevez, Jagger, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Buster Poindexter, Amanda Plummer, Frankie Faison, Esai Morales...I'll stop now.
