Tim, that TG record is increasingly difficult to find, I had to grab a copy from Germany. It was also the last 80's TG OST that I needed to complete my 80s collection.

very similar sounds to Miracle Mile. so good.

@monsterworship, I agree. so happy to finally have it. I hear Miracle Mile in it and Risky Business is there also.

@tim - ^That score is pretty nuts. I like the air raid sirens that get mixed in. I did not pick it up on vinyl, and I should probably revisit that decision.

Classical meets dark ambient.

The Italian cinematic funk-rockers Calibro 35 recorded a version of Sabotage using the Beastie Boys a capella. Vocal on the A side and instrumental on the B side. They only made a few copies, but it's worth tracking down!

Really solid nu-jazz / downtempo electronic album by Moscow producer Krivitsky. Pressed in a run of 100 copies in 2012 which you can still get from Russian sellers on Discogs. If you like Skalpel you will like this record. Was reorganizing stuff tonight and forgot I had this one.

Spinning some 45rpm 12" dance singles I picked up recently:

Really fun, and bringing up very fond memories. Also, these 12"s are going to slay in the mix. I'm thinking another set on black wax is now required. Still can't get into the picture discs yet, even after the positive review on the DFC!

update: Flipped both multiple times, too good.

Nice Goldsmith deaf!

I'll most likely skip on those single Carpenter's. I just can't bring myself to pay $15 a pop for just under 7 minutes of music. If these singles had been released on a single EP for about the same price I probably would have handed over my money. I love John Carpenter but to me this was just a money grab. That's my 2 cents, I'll zip it now. Anyway, I'm glad the ones who are getting them are really enjoying them.

Happy spinning! :)

@tim - That is a fair criticism, imho. That said, they greatly appeal to the DJ part of me, where it is not outlandish to drop $10-15 on a 12" single (usually imported though). I agree though, it is not the best fit for the relaxed home listen where you have to get back up again right after sitting down to have a listen.

I wouldn't be surprised is there is a longer LP coming in the future with all the classic themes re-recorded with the new band.

Who does pressing work for sacred bones? They need to find a new plant IMHO... one of the JC singles is wildly off-center, and I've had a huge % of off-center defects on Sacred Bones releases in general.

Also the "mystery" colors look terrible

I do like the jackets and the mixes

overall, I was a bit disappointed with the Carpenter singles. Would have been better served as a 4 song EP.

For the mystery color, the plant will give you whatever left over colors they have at the time, and don't have any choice or idea what you are getting. It is cheaper for them.

The colors that I got were meh. Clear yellow with faint black streaks and a blue marble for Halloween.

I won't be double dipping on these, that's for sure.

Yeah, I don't love the mystery colors either. I thought the red/blue they were selling on the tour looked better. Might move these along and pick up the black vinyl though, as I definitely plan make use of the music. EFNY is probably my favorite right now.

my assault was a pinkish marble similar to deafs, my halloween was a blue marble..or vice versa, need to check.

I followed some hashtags on insta to see what other colors are out there and found a guy ranting that " it is the color of penis veins under a condom. not what i was expecting and hands down the ugliest vinyl i own"

can't really tell from the picture what the color actually is, but the description hypes it up for me :)

Hahaha, yeah very odd that they did it this way, but the tracks are killer and i can't wait to hear them live :)
