I should have picked this up a long time ago. It's been ages since I watched the film. The score is a lot better than I thought it was going to be.

^ Unbelievable release on that one. I'm really impressed with the pop songs that Moroder puts together on Midnight Express & Scarface too.

[quote="deafmetal"]@spun - That is such a great Nicolai album. I find it interesting that the opening track on the reissue, Saba, was left off the original LP. I just adore that tune, and it gets stuck in my head. Anybody know if it was ever released as a 45? Sospetto performed an excellent cover of the song recently that was released by Cineploit on 45, and it was also included on their LP.

Yeah, the Sabba tracks are a real standout - hard to imagine the LP without it/them - the version that closes Side B is my preferred version. Also have the Sospetto cover - in fact have enjoyed all three of their LPs on Cineploit, especially their most recent which tackled a different genre on each side of the two disks. Quality tunes.

Also had to pick up Midnight Express recently, after it was shown some love on the DFC I believe

Brilliant record! Intrigued as to how much of the score was created using vintage moog gear, genius concept. Kind of like a 70's martinez, if there was one.
@spun have to say I really dig the art direction on this one. It seems to allude to something about the film while still not giving anything way. In other words it's made me curious to see the movie.

Next up Interior by Interior.
On Yen records Haroumi Hosono's (of YMO fame)short lived label. Japanese new wave/age type stuff.

There is also a euro release of this album but be aware the tracklisting is not the same.
