Damn this is a killer

Ahead of the forthcoming full length soundtrack album later this fall, we're so pleased to release THE MONSTER SQUAD 7-Inch Single. This collectible release features the two pop songs from the classic monster mash ("Rock Until You Drop" by Michael Sembello, and "Monster Squad" Rap by The Monster Squad), and 4 different stunning covers by artists Jason Edmiston, Phantom City Creative, Randy Ortiz and 'Ghoulish' Gary Pullin.

"Dracula" will be available on Mondo's website this May and "The Wolfman" will be available this weekend at Texas Frightmare, in Dallas, TX.

As part of our ongoing commitment to support brick and mortar record stores all year round we are pleased to announce that THE MONSTER SQUAD 7-inch single will have TWO exclusive covers for retail partners. "The Gillman" will be available exclusively to record stores in the United Kingdom and "Frankenstein's Monster" will be available exclusively to record stores in the United States.

DW stated that the Gillman cover/ colorway variant is only available in the UK, while the Frankenstein's Monster variant is for the US

Is this a series of the same music on different variants or different music on different variants?

The Gillman cover is fantastic.I may have to Vinyl Bubby for a swap of UK/US variants. I wonder if these cuts will reappear on the full length later this year?

Guys -

I'm happy to buddy for you on this, just let me know.

I'm personally waiting for the LP, as I'm not so into these super-expensive 7"s. As Tom Noonan would say......

BOGUS!

With Mondo's new low low shipping rates (thanks Spencer) - I figure I'll be purchasing more direct rather than waiting for retail in the UK.

How do other fellow Brits find their Mondo orders get on with customs charges? Is it a lottery like everything else you import?

Hail, Caesar! showed up recently. Not my favorite initially, although it does do a fine job referencing the 50s Hollywood stuff.

Two thumbs up for Mondo going with a heavier tip-on style sleeve for this. I think this might be the first Mondo release to use a nice heavy jacket.

This is a call out to UK buyers. In the past I've been stung with import taxes, usually a pick up from a PO sorting office. However, in the last week I've received e-mails and a letter from a company stating they are holding a Mondo order on behalf of DHL. Payment wanted by credit card or "RETURN TO SENDER OR PASS FOR DESTRUCTION". The company is CCL, Customs Clearance Limited. Anyone have any dealings with these guys, website looks spectacularly unprofessional. Any advice, most appreciated.

The DHL thing sounds legit... no idea about that company, though a quick Google did throw this up:

Sensible thing would be to call them I guess and get a feel for whether it is genuine.

On another note, guess you guys will have seen that DeathWaltz tweeted August release for Twin Peaks.

That would be before MondoCon. I thought they might have held it for the convention, but that should make a lot of people happy that would not be able to attend.

in case anyone missed them from a few years back, LITA seems to have stock of both HALLOWEEN slip mats from mondo.

i don't think its "we Are Still here" i think its the new material for DWO Spencer tweeted about the other day. no track by that name on the OST listed at iTunes anyway. I think waxwork may be doing we are still here down the line as they promoted it pretty heavily when the flick came out.

happy to see they are doing Darling, that score is great, awesome movie too.

I thought Darling was a bit of a snore, I don't remember the music though.

Objectively I agree with you on Darling, but the night i saw it the cast was in attendance and I was kind of in subdued mood already so it hit the right cords for me. I doubt i'd be able to rewatch it with any regularity though.

Very excited for Escape from the Bronx as well as Naked Lunch and Crash. I've not seen We're still here (regardless of who's releasing it). And I've never heard of Darling so i'll have to see if that's available to rent yet.
