Some late-night electro/techno:

Double-45 with gatefold sleeve. Still on sale at Transmission for six quid. Solid stuff.

You can also play it at 33rpm if you're feeling hellish.

@deaf- I picked up that Varese edition of Aliens from Static before the Mondo reissues were released. I wouldn't even think of trading that record for the reissue. The Varese version is just perfect.

@reddye6- I thought about picking up the Coven score. I love American Movie. I thought it was one of the funniest documentaries I've ever seen. I have to pull that one off the rack this week and give it a watch. What a blast that one is.

Re: Coven / American Movie

Can't wait for my copy!

A friend of mine back in the day, she insisted after we watched American Movie that the whole thing was a hoax.

I could only say "Seriously?? I know of at least 5 guys like Mark Borchardt and his best bud Mike, are you kidding??"

I still tease her to this day.

The Coven soundtrack also comes with a download of the film, which I still need to see.

One of two more late-night spins. The first is some '80s goth punk from California.

Thanks Scojo for getting me this.
I tried to watch the movie but half way through I just couldn't keep my focus. Need to give it another try. The score is beautiful. Dark and menacing. Sound quality is top notch on this variant. Very heavy and thick glossy cover.

Another thanks to Scojo!
Speaking about a heavy cover... Impressive package.
And what a score. One of my favorite Carpenter movies. But saying that I can think of a lot more favorite Carpenter movies. And scores... There is a reason people love his work and new releases are described as Carpenteresque. He really is a genius.

I am not a groupie.. Just using Scojo as a theme for choosing what records to play.
Another brilliant package. Filled with extra's. And a very original and bizarre score.

That's really a great score Tim. I've had mine in my collection for a long time. I know they have jumped up in price the last few years. Good to hear you got one at a good price. Speaking of the jacket art, I don't think there's anything better than some of the Varese original movie poster jackets. I think it's one of the reasons older Varese pressings that have been reissued have maintained their value or have gone up in value. Just my opinion though.

@bpwlogan, it is a great score. Not really sure why I never got it when it was first released. I agree with you, the original Sarabande jackets are pretty awesome.

everyone here knows my love for this score and since Thursday was Christopher Young's birthday it's a good reason to give it a spin.

neither of my local shops had this in stock on RSD and I refused to pay what the ebay sellers were asking. This should be an easy release to get, there were 5000 printed. Anyway, one of my shops got a copy in this week and I snagged it!

Apologies, I've got a lot to learn when it comes to Japanese vinyl, and Japanese in general for that matter.
Already noticed the problem of not being able to tell one record spine from the other (thank God the cat no's are not in katakana)

Did not have any version of the Burning. This arrived yesterday. I completely forgot how this score sounded. I have the movie on DVD but is has been over ten years since I last watched it.

Great score from John Scott. I should check out Discogs to see if I can get a better copy though. This one has had a few spins in the past.

it's probably been well over a year since I pull a CD from the shelf but I had to give this a listen after this weeks DFC. The 3 tracks on the 7" Nosferatu released for RSD16 were taken from this. This is a wonderful CD and one I have longed for on vinyl for quite some time. Like so many, I'm hoping the 7" release means this isn't fair behind. My only suggestion would be some better jacket art.
