@Mateo-it's the original EG first pressing from 1982. I've had this record for 20 years or so. It sounds great. The pressing is mint. I'm glad it's in great shape. This is one of those recordings that helps if you have a good pressing if not you're going to hear a lot of surface noise. You're right great album!

Yep, surface noise is the scourge of ambient music on LP. Glad you've an excellent copy. Love that Brian Eno.

"Here come the warm jets" is a perfect album, that I am shamed to say I do not have on wax. I love the ambient stuff, how could you not, but that first solo record (and the next two as well IMO) belongs in the same sentence as Electric Warrior, Slider, Roxy Music's first, Aladdin Sane and Ziggy...when Glam is mentioned.

I concur. Here Come the Warm Jets, Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy, and Another Green World are all great. I have Japanese pressing of the lot. Beautiful stuff.

Figured Mondo's distributed release today was a good enough reason to dust this one off for a spin

@static - Nice trio of scores there.
@texas - I finally caved and ordered the Buio Mondo LP today along with Dracula AD 1972.

The Barn is wicked!

What a great surprise from Lunaris. This one has it all: creepy atmosphere, oozing and oppressive synths, and even some epic moments of thundering guitar. Recommended!

@deaf...

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! You've gone too far this time my friend. That's the damn Visurama Japanese Phantasm pressing that I've been after for years! Oooh you sonofagun, that's the most Spin Envy I've felt for quite some time, and it's gonna sting for a while.

;)

@Scott - It was a tough pull. The sleeve is pretty thrashed, and I had to clean some encrusted bit of unknown matter off the vinyl, but it sounds huge in the headphones. Am I mistaken, or are some of these mixes a bit different from the Varese edition? They certainly seem to be in a different order, but hmm..

Also, any idea if this is a Seven Seas promo pressing?

It is slightly different than the standard label shown on Discogs:

Also, we'll get you a copy yet, my friend! It will happen.

Haha, im sure one will show up :)
Ive always wondered myself about how different this version would sound,as its mixed in some kindof fancy spatial 'Visurama' stereo process - glad it hitting you square between the cans! Looks like you have a Cam licensed version from the label, as opposed to the Japanese press? I honestly have no idea tho.

yeah Deaf the envy factor is growing too damn high. It's been what, 3 years since the forum opened ? I've seen you add titles being to your collection that makes me think you might just be rich. You're a suit aren't you ? or a drug dealer. or just very lucky.

Apologies, but I have no inherited wealth, I don't wear a suit to work, and I'm not a drug dealer. I work very hard to be successful at my trade, which is network engineering, and I am compensated fairly for the work. Record collecting has been my primary hobby for over twenty years now, and it's were I spend nearly all of my extra income (outside of family vacations). I drive a 13-year-old car, rarely buy new clothes or other personal things, and try to keep all other expenses as low as possible. I have also been selling off a lot of my metal and electronic vinyl collection to help with picking up more vintage soundtracks and libraries, which I have been way more into over the last many years. I also use a lot of my free time to search for vinyl, and I even stopped playing video games a few years ago to devote more time to the hobby. I try to maintain a network of people across the globe to help find vinyl albums that I am looking for.

I also feel pretty damn lucky whenever I pull in a big one. That said, it's not my intention to piss anybody off by posting here. I am just looking to share in the passion for this hobby, or obsession might be the better word for me. If my posts have become irritating, then I could volunteer to stop posting about what I'm buying or listening to, or only discuss reissues.

Let me know your thoughts, or feel free to send me a direct message.

@deaf pshh don't do that, I say post em if you got em! makes life more fun, and none of my RL friends give two shits about this stuff. #waxwars plus collecting records is like doing drugs, it's addictive and you need bigger and bigger doses as you go ;) Instagram has been lots of fun for that, there are some guys with just absolutely insano collections.

@Deaf- don't stop posting on this site. I've been buying records as long as you have been. One thing that makes STBC unique is the fact that we love all different kinds of music. I love that about this forum. There's really not too people on this site. It's a tight nit group. I've picked up all kinds of new things from you guys. Keep posting on the now playing list. Now can you show me how to shed some of my collection? This stuff is starting to pile up on me the last few years. I don't want to end up on that television show Hoarders. :)

Nice comp but mainly Vladimir Cosma - L'Affaire Crazy Capo

@deaf - Nice to see the posts and I am almost sure that was just meant in all fun. That Phantasm is different...it is a 4 channel mix.

Interrabang?!

Thank God for the deja vu reissue, the OG is def. not an easy one to come by (cue @milliondollars to casually pull one off the shelf)
