kind of interesting that transmission puts the news up first, and SB doesn't even have a pre order up for hard copies. I'm more juiced about the "world tour" though!!

Raspberry Pink and Emerald Green?? Am I missing the connection?

Very strange that Sacred Bones seem to be the last to put this on sale! Going to try for the screen print edition (assuming there is one), having missed out on LT I (one).

Going to see the man in Manchester in October - I'm wondering what the balance of classic to new material will be. Not that I'm complaining, especially if II is as good as I.

Carpenter fever aside (loving the raspberry swirl idea though have no idea what relation it has to the music)... have these little beauties in hand for composer Steve Nolan's 'Sodium Party' score that I'm going to be putting out soon through my fledgling 'Spun Out Of Control' music label...

Have posted a few tracks up on our Soundcloud page:
https://soundcloud.com/spunoutofcontrol

We're doing a limited run of split colour shells - Side A being black text on white shell, and Side B white text on black shell - the split mirroring the 'duality' of the lead character in the movie and also (an idea from composer Steve Nolan as much as myself) reflecting the lighter/darker side of the musical score... Side A comprising some beautiful piano pieces that will appeal to Erased Tapes fans, whilst Side B is more synth/distorted electronica

Hope you guys dig! More details soon but obviously our Twitter can be followed for updates

Sorry for the delay in reponse, all. Been a busy week. The releases I mentioned were from a LITA email for my wholesale account - That price listed for Ninth Gate is highway robbery!

I love Warlock, but the price is a bit much. Is it licensing fees, perhaps? The uber deluxe release of The Mask was ~$25.00 IIRC and this is nowhere near as neat.

@Voodoo - You know I'm already on board for the music, but I'll take a blinged out cassette to go with it.

@MW - Same feelings here. Warlock is too much for me, although maybe it can be justified with rights isuues, but even that seems a stretch.

@Tim - I love the new SFFS, but buying digital was an easy choice.

deafmetal wrote:@Voodoo_Jim - do you know if The Ninth Gate is going to be a US RSD release as well? Or is it Europe/UK only?

It is a US release since it is available to order - same with the Goblin, Dr Who, et al.

deafmetal wrote:@Spun - the Sodium Party material is really nice. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing.
Will stick some more of the score up on Soundcloud - the 3 clips so far reveal some of the breadth and diversity though.
EDIT: Now 6 clips for your listening pleasure... :)

As I guess 99.9% of the forum won't have seen the movie, here's a link to the trailer:

The film is a bit bonkers in a David Lynch twisted fairytale sort of way, though to be honest the amazing score can be fully appreciated as a piece of music in its own right... a bit like that for Upstream Color :)

For almost 60 years Ennio Morricone has been composing some of the most beautiful film scores of all time. This collection shows the darker experimental side of Ennio with pieces that have accompanied such films as The Cat O' Nine Tails (Dario Argento), The Devil In the Brain, Il Serpente, Drammi Gotici, The Infernal and many more. Frightening orchestrations, dark jazz tapestries and unsettling piano movements are brought to life. With this release Rustblade attempts to shine a light on the compositional magic of an undisputed musical genius with a collection of songs appearing for the first time ever on vinyl. A must have! Limited Transparent vinyl 499 copies exclusive for Record Store Day.
