bpwlogan wrote:@Tim- love that song. I always thought "Fame" made this album. Along with "Golden Years" it's on the top of my Bowie list!
Yep, Station to Station is my another favorite. I have 2 copies of both those albums.

Tim I do have Night Crossing thanks either to you or static on the old "eBay heads up" thread, that's a good one too.

I blind bought this one today. I know of Sébastien Tellier, but I don't really know his stuff. It's awesome! I'm definitely need to check out more.

Anyone here a Tellier fan? Looks like he has about ten albums, any in particular to keep an eye out for?

This first link is to Le Long De La Riviere Tendre. I know the song well, but I never knew who it was. I love that, one of those things about records that keeps you coming back.

Also, can someone please tell me where this melody came from? You can hear it at 7 seconds into this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaH7OaXRsRU my brain is not working well enough right now to remember. and I might be wrong but it sounds like he aped that from somewhere else.

This Narco OST is definitely the buy of the day, even tops the JB's Breakin' Bread red label I found for $5. I foresee it spending a lot of time on the platter.

bpwlogan wrote:@texas I've had Low for a long time when you could get it for a couple of bucks at a used record store. I'm surprised with all of the reissues these days that the majority of Bowie's albums haven't had a repress. I'm sure there coming.

I've been thinking about doing a Instagram account for some time now. I just like STBC because it's a small tight nit group. Hope to still see you post on here too. You always have a lot of cool stuff.
Agreed, STBC is the best. I'll keep on with the posts! I am sure we'll get reissues of the Bowie stuff and probably a PopMarket type of box set. I have @static's old copy of Space Oddity and a Ziggy Stardust, otherwise not much Bowie in my collection outside of a couple of singles.

@texasvinyl - I like Sébastien Tellier in general, and Narco specifically, a fair bit. My personal favorite is Sexuality. A really cool record. Different than Narco to be sure, but a very rewarding listen.

I love Tellier!
Narco is superb.
Have you seen the video for Universe?
La Ritournelle is one of the best Summer singles of the last 15 years...
My favourite LP is Politics.
Tellier!
Belgian pop!

@ J.R.
I loved the movie as well. They did a great job with the retro feel. And I loved the score, but haven't pick it up yet (because so much other stuff...)

Just watched the Universe video. Loved the video collage elements there. Politics is a really nice record. Disco, funny that you mention La Ritournelle as a great Summer single as the video is essentially Bas shoveling snow. Sebastien Tellier chatter: just another reason I love/missed STBC.

You have to add pics using the upload attachment option below the text field.
Or you have to link to pics on an image site like imgur or what have you
