I was one of a healthy few in here who loved the Killer Bullets from the Spaghetti West series from Semi-Automatic that were released in 2013-14 so imagine my delight when I read about Library Sound Grooves! This is the first in the new series (of at least four) and it is excellent stuff.

Howdy, TWS! Nice to be back. I snapped up the first four (three and four dropped Stateside just before Christmas, I believe) and have only just received them Wed. So I'm only on Jazz Expressions, but so far so great. The newest two are Library Of Sound Grooves – Erotic Vibrations & Bossa Moods From The Italian Cinema 1966 to 1973 and Library Of Sound Grooves – Action Beat & Psycho Grooves From The Italian Cinema 1966 to 1974. I will be spinning these all weekend. Also, I agree with Hatter that the Killer Bullets series was amazing. And tough to top. Still, their quality was what sold me whole hog on these beauties.

I have promoted Obscure Psychedelic Manuscripts to the top of the queue and am listening now. Some mental tracks already on the a-side even though vocals feature more heavily than expected.
Was listening to Libra's "Shock" earlier, and the two albums sit next to each other nicely.

One of the surprises so far: Roberto Righini's "Non era un sogno". Superfuzz bigmuff!

Re. the Spaghetti Western compilations, I am in the market for vol. 5, which I have yet to find at a European seller.

Dude. I have never heard Shock. I just YouTubed some tracks over at Discogs and that is some hot shit. Killer Bullets 5 stuck around awhile over here, but I will keep my eyes peeled for an EU copy. Pardon my ignorance, but does anybody know where Semi-Automatic is based out of? I always presumed they were European, perhaps incorrectly.

Side Note: Mario Nascimbene's Carol on the Sea, track 3 on Jazz Expressions from the Italian Cinema, is a positively top shelf groove.

Mateo, weird, I always thought it was a US label, partly because their releases come at import prices in Europe. I've had vol. 5 in my Discogs wishlist for ages, it would be cool if you spotted a euro copy somewhere. I'll also go back and check the Jazz album again, after your recommendation. The samples I had heard had left me on the fence.

There's another Righini track on the Psychedelic Manuscripts album. That one is even more of a ride:

Oh, and "Shock" is one of my favourites among the recent reissues. Reminiscent of Goblin (with whom they shared two musicians, I believe), but with a more electronic/experimental edge to it.

I'm waiting for Jupiter Ascending, Theory of Everything, and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon to arrive.

No way, mang. That's the one I have and it's lovely. Not sure I have the budget these days for re-ups anyhow. Unless I come across a copy of this Japanese cassette of course.

Because that is hot shit.

Good to be back, Static, and very nice to see you're still propping up these threads with your massive collection.
