Why is this a triple LP? This is rough around the edges and badly in need of editing... The last track is five minutes of raw studio feed of multiple takes for a three-note flute sound. Just...why
This is what you can call a very complete soundtrack... Some have the feeling this is an unfinished work because it is not curated. In my case it just puts the light on the verb curating and give us the mesure of the job. In the other hand it's really a christmas gift for the sampler with those isolated flutes solos...
Good job Priv4te, give us more reissues like that.

Appropriate for the season, and simply a masterwork by Clint Mansell.

I am immediately entranced. The pressing quality is almost absurdly good (very quiet!). Well done, Mondo. Very excited to hear more vinyl albums from Mansell's back catalog in the future.

In every way astonishing. I sprung for the 3rd pressing on coloured wax - has to be the most considered use of colours (matched to overall art and specific sleeve for each vinyl) that I've yet seen. Beautiful!

The sleeve notes (which are some of the best I've ever read) go into great detail about the incident/his life. You're right of course - he'll never get parole because although his crime had little directly to do with Manson's family, it was brutally bad timing to commit a murder just BEFORE the Manson family's.

I thought Manson was there and was the one who told Bobby to write in blood to try to frame the black panthers. It is a nice box, I had one but sold it at the Austin record show. The murder thing and the bad prison tattoo art made me feel weird about having it around. The music was surprisingly good though, and I might still get another copy

I've just gone back and re-read the afore-mentioned liner notes. It seems I've managed to scramble the story a bit, apologies. It does seem that Manson was directly involved, and BB himself later admitted such (after changing his story a bit over time...)

Who knows - bad drug deal, Manson-mania, mescaline-fuelled bad juju....any way you cut it, I guess it is difficult to have much sympathy for the guy. He could play dat geetar tho! ;)

Next up, hands down the weirdest record I picked up this year.
Geoff krozier and the generator - trance former.

Keeping it twisted. Can I just say I bloody love this record. It has grown on me since I picked it up in the previous sub. Knew nothing of the film or score before ows educated me.

Where east meets west, where the twisted meets the sublime.
Definitely one of the best reissues of the year, in all its pleather goodness.

Merry Christmas everyone. Christmas eve means it's time to play the Xmas records I grew up with, starting with this 1982 release by a local radio station KVIL. All tracks were produced and recorded in Dallas/Ft Worth by local musicians and choirs.
