It never ends...

Well I'm sure it will never end, but how long have you been collecting, how long did it take you to get to this point? There are still tons of titles I want for my collection, and the list is always growing ....

@deafmetal. That was my living room this morning.
@jurassiccarpenter. I restarted collecting about 12 years ago. I actually don't want for much and the prices that we
pay for records in Australia kind of limits my collecting habits.

Gotcha, over here in Canada prices can be pretty good on standard releases and a good used market, but special Mondo/DW type releases can get pricy with exchange rates and monstrous shipping costs. I still splurge, but I like to focus on older releases, originals and represses from the 70s and 80s because they sometimes get overlooked and can be cheap if you are patient and like to crate dig. I can imagine getting to a point though where I collect all of the titles that can come up in this way, but then have only a handful that I can never find and then I contemplate spending too much money on Discogs ...

The AUD has always been weak in comparison to the GBP and has recently fallen to .68 USD which means that it is low EVERYWHERE.A few years ago the AUD and USD reached parity which was very exciting for us until the U.S. postal service caught on and bumped up the shipping prices. Not sure if that's actually what happened but those two events coincided .
Importing goods has just taken a back seat for the common Australian consumer. Until our dollar improves....it's still buy everything haha.

I like it when DW et al repress things. It allows me to purchase records that would otherwise be off limits.

There's always room for one more - that's the problem with our affliction!!

I have turned to vinyl soundtracks as my horror movie collection is pretty much well where I want it to be, except for one title 'Lady Stay Dead' so I am at the other end of the spectrum, though I agree with the prices in Australia! I've been buying from Discrepancy via mail order ( I'm in Sydney) and the 6 records I have picked up have emptied my spending account.
