Some really fantastic lists ITT. A few titles that are making me want to revisit my top10, haha. Also, regretting not thinking of including TV or videogame OSTs, a couple of brilliant ones (The Knick, Hotline Miami 2) that are definitely worthy.

For me the best soundtracks are the ones that take you there instantly, so here goes-

Girl with the dragon tattoo - Trent Reznor / Atticus Ross ( instantly dark and chilling )
Drive - Cliff Martinez ( one of the most influential modern soundtracks, a thousand bands have probably been formed off the back of it )
