"EXTREMELY LIMITED EDITION DOUBLE YELLOW VINYL LP" according to Twitter. I wonder what that means... I think I'll stick to my one pink copy, though :)

How many editions of this have there been?

i agree. the 80s style songs are kind of fun, but the score is very repetitive throughout. turns into background music every time i try to listen to it.

The sound design kinda ruined the film for me.

absolutely. i mean, the movie was decent, but people paying $150 for that soundtrack? jesus.

The soundtrack isn't bad, there are some really good tracks but it would have been enough a single vinyl. The real mystery is 8 (!) different vinyl versions up until now! :D

yeah, i'm basically sick of hearing about it. it will probably be a really long time before i even listen to it again.

Labels need to be upfront about how limited things really are and their future plans to repress things.

I don't think I know a single label that would fit that description :)

I think you are wrong about the Drive soundtrack. I think it stands well on its on. And I play it a lot.
However I didn't buy any invada versions because of the import price, and I only got 1 mondo version on black and that is enough for me.

I personally couldn't give a flying one how limited a release is; the more copies there are the better chance I have in getting one. Can't wait to get my hands on Solaris after all this time.

I couldn't agree more. I am really sick of it and have no plans to listen to it...maybe ever again.

I really enjoy the full soundtrack to Drive, not just the pop songs. With that being said, I completely agree with the problem of labels repressing without any notice. When they put up limited to 300 copies, and everyone waits online all night, refreshes a site a thousand times, keeps their cell phone out and open all day long to see it flash across that tiny screen, and then forks over a ton of money they may not actually have right now because they feel pressured to get it before it goes sky high on Ebay or Discogs, then you hear from the same label that a surprise repress is coming within the next couple of months...that's really bullshit on their part. We are all really great customers, we all are very loyal to each one of these labels that are on this forum or are discussed on this forum...I think out of common courtesy we should be told of plans for repress so we can buy it as we're able to, not out of fear of being sold out forever. Maybe we're just being too demanding though for our hard-earned $30, $35, $40, $50 dollars we're spending on a single release???

I heard so much about the Drive soundtrack prior to seeing the film, then I saw the film, and couldn't stand the soundtrack! "He's a real human being, a hero". Um... what? Ha... Just not into it.

Cool! For those who don't buy CDs (like myself), you can listen to the only recently released score cuts from The Warriors by Barry Devorzon on this guy's YT channel!

Bloody brilliant :)

Somebody please put the score out on vinyl!!! It clocks in at just over 30 minutes....maybe a 10" mini LP or
12" EP?? ;)

loved the short but don't recall the music either...in fact i doubt there were any "music" in it, i only remember ambient/noises (something like Eraserhead) and alarm sirens...but i may be totally wrong...

I think you're right - as the Norman Records listing reads a bit like "Google-translated French" ( :) ) it's difficult to know for sure, but I think it's saying that half of the record is the original soundtrack taken from 35mm print, the other half is a live soundtrack performed a few years back at a fantasy festival screening......I'm still intrigued!

It's only on CD but I for one can't afford the Japanese vinyl so this is way better than nothing:

Christian Gaubert - The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane

Cover's a bit naff and the LP still stays on my Holy Grail list, but it'll do until I get drunk and reckless with the credit card sometime ....

I pre-ordered on trust, the only official release of Parazite apart from the soundtrack of "Le Bunker de la Derniere Rafale" is a tape with only two tracks (if anyone is interested I could give you a link via email!).
It is 80's minimal electronic stuff, really cool! ;)
