Why is this release so much more expensive than previous ones? I see the deluxe edition is $38 at LITA, I believe previous deluxe editions weren't more than $28. I know it's a double LP, but it just seems like a big jump up in price. I'm a subber, so I'm just gonna get the one I receive and not order another one, but I'm just wondering. Obviously it's a quality product, so it will be worth the price (as always).

^^^ Yeah I'm surprised no one brought up the price yet. Pretty expensive! I still ordered it because I want it, heh. I'm not sure what the difference with the deluxe version is, though. Is it just the color?

According to the DW site, the deluxe edition features a "GALTEX PRIMA TEXTURED HEAVYWEIGHT GATEFOLD SLEEVE", which translates to "beautiful work of art".

Deluxe is sold out at LitA!

^^ What EC said!

Kinda reminds me of the octopus monster from Possession for some reason:

The title does not have an offensive meaning against women,, literal is ‘a lizard with the skin of a woman’, and is intended as a sensual, sexy lizard.
After the great success of Argento’s ‘Bird’, ‘Cat’ and ‘Flies’ all Italian producers realized ‘Gialli’ putting some animal in the title, to recall the Argento’s ones. This fact bothered very much Argento who even get angry with Fulci on ‘Lizard’, ‘Duckling’ and then for ‘Zombi 2’ (the Italian title for ‘Dawn of the dead’ as you know was Zombi). Fulci was a great director and certainly did not need these tricks to deceive the public, it was producer’s strategy.
Lately I'm working on several Morricone, (nice surprises are waiting for you from AMS) but I would have liked to write the liner notes for this record, there are so many stories about this film to fill a dozen pages. ‘Lizard’ also had a lot of problems with the censorship (and even in Court!) for the sexy scenes and for Carlo Rambaldi’s too realistic special effects. I remember that my mother, a ‘gialli’ die-hard fan (the DNA is not watery!) when she saw the film in 1971 was very disturbed by the sequence in the lab, believing it was real.
At the time, this score remained unpublished but there is a RCA acetate with five songs, sure a great collector's item!!!

Thanks @Red - always great to hear your perspective signor :)

As I say, I was pretty sure that the title wasn't nearly as blunt in it's original Italian, but then that's usually the way isn't it? There's something about "Lizard in a Woman's Skin" in English that almost borders on an expression you might hear down the pub, between a couple of blokes complaining about some twisted "bit of skirt" that they've gotten involved with! (Well, to be honest it's probably still a bit flowery/poetic for your casual pub misogynist ;)

Bring on more of the Maestro!!!

Heard back from the fine folks at LitA, and my requested upgrade was completed. Super stoked about it.

Aside from the higher-quality packaging and more complex colorways, I recall some talk a while back of prices being too low on LitA and that being unfair to European customers or those that simply prefer to order from DW. Check the House of the Devil thread, I think.

I wonder how many emails LitA received about cancelling/swapping orders. I have not heard back yet on cancelling my standard LP order.

I'm still waiting to hear back about my cancellation of the Standard LP, but I'm not worried. They always get me sorted.

Has anyone had their physical copy of this yet?

I'm just giving the wav's a proper listen and its mind blowing.
Can't say I was that familiar with this score before today but man this is incredible.

Once again a case of @deathwaltz sending something I didn't know I needed until I needed it.

Got the vinyl, looks great. Love it. Colourway looks like there was paint left over from the TCM release but looks great. Nice to see DW have gone back to the textured cover which I missed on BTBR.

Was slightly disappointed there were no liner notes for said BTBR as pretty sure Spencer mentioned there were some coming? Maybe I'm wrong.
