I had to grab that Plinth, while grabbing the new Jon Brooks, since I missed it last time it was in stock here in the U.S.

I reeeeeeeally wish these guys were landing before Halloween. I have a feeling they would go really great with a lazy Fall afternoon leading up to Halloween!

Music For Smalls Lighthouse is ace. The true story that inspired it (a little book comes with the LP) is just plain weird but the music only makes half as much sense without it, and is the reason why all lighthouse crews after that were comprised of 3 people instead of two.

And while I'm here, here's 3 tracks off the new Night Terrors album. I cannot wait for this beauty!

@Si

Think I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on this release at some point soon after all your championing! (Even if they do over-do the theremin)

See it is 'coming soon' on Finders Keepers UK site though doesn't mention which vinyl they will have?

100 copies of 52 at the Ghost Box store now.

That's a lot - I'm guessing then that Clay Pipe had 300 and the other 100 was split between Norman, Experimedia and Monorail....or something like that!

And all the Ghost Box ones have now gone. A 2nd edition is planned for next year.

Suckers who snoozed missed out on this one. I love it. Jon Brooks is awesome both on his own and as advisory circle. And if you can get a copy of the collaboration with Pye Corner then snag it.

Not vinyl, but Spanish label Burka for Everybody (who've just rereleased Umberto - Prophecy... On vinyl) have just sent out a free (name your price) label sampler available via their bandcamp page. Definitely worth checking out if you like your glacial synths and electronic bleeps. Though they're not on this sampler I recommend checking out We Are the Hunters.

Feeling stressed out about the next soundtrack launch? Need something to help your mind wander off to a deserted island?? Just want to musically escape back to 1967??? Well I've got the 7" for you!

Ixtahuele - Mareld (click to buy)

I own their first album, Pagan Rites, and it is just so damn good. I spin it quite often. These guys do an incredibly great job of channeling the 1960s tropical spirit of Martin Denny.

Ghosty, you never cease to amaze me. Ixtahuele is a damn fine band. I love atomic era exotica and these guys do it as well as any contemporary band I've come across. Dig in, gang!

Ready for another fairly unsung release that should be heard!?

From the amazing Flenser label: Kayo Dot - Coffins On IO

You can BUY IT here

I got this in yesterday, and I've already spun it three times. It sounds just freakin' awesome. It is post-rock guitars, '80s synth and vocals...incredibly cool songwriting, just a unique but familiar record. A little Depeche Mode post-rock!

Ha ha, this sort of sounds like a vaguely gothic new romantic band to me. Spandau ballet in particular.

Unsure whether this is a good thing or not :)

@lazyben - yes! That's a better comparison than Depeche Mode. Good call! It really is a damn fine album though, regardless of any '80s references.

@ DrRhythm - Still awaiting delivery from US for my copy. I know what noises to expect from Delia, but would like to know what the sound quality is like when you listen!

Oiche - finally listening to the Delia - was a bit concerned about how the sound quality might be but it turns out that it's pretty good. The whole thing is bonkers - I love it!!
