What are people's opinion of the latest Aphex album?

I'm enjoying it a great deal, can see it being one I play on the regular for sure.

I got it in the post on Saturday. I'll be honest and say I've not been bothered enough to listen to it yet.

Some tracks are absolute killers on a first listen; others I'm hoping will be growers.

It's a solid album, the drum programming is unreal. So much going on in each track and they are constantly evolving, it's hard to get bored. Not my fav Aphex album (that would be SAW85-92 and ICBYD) but hopefully there is more on the horizon.

I finally received mine yesterday, spun it this morning. Absolutely love it all the way through. With Aphex, usually there are a couple of tracks here and there that I don't care for so I skip. While this might not be his very best album, to me it is the first album I can listen to all the way through. I really enjoyed it, and am excited to spin it again. I definitely hope this means more albums are on the way!

Played it tonight again just after listening to part of M83's second album and the difference in sound clarity was unbelievable. It was like I had been listening to M83 underwater. Warp really know how to master and press a record.

They always ace their vinyl mastering, but they're no strangers to screwed up pressings.

Syro is simply a lot of fun to listen to.
It's a good mix between early Aphex and his acid side but with a funk twist imo.
And as always the quality of sounds he makes is phenomenal.

The second track Xmas_Evet10 sounds so much like Selected Ambient Works 85-92, as if it's almost an outtake of that record.

Highly enjoyable overall.
I hope he puts more music out like he said in recent interviews.

Ok, I am not sure how this can be, but Syro 3LP is currently $15.81 on Amazon.com...

Meant to grab this for so long. For once, my procrastinating has paid off!

If you don't have it, there is no reason not to grab it at this price.

Ladies and gentlemen, many of you must be aware of Richards last updates in a Soundcloud account with the alias user48736353001
He uploaded 157 demos (there're 155 now, he removed 2 trax) from the 90's... YES, and you can download all for free.

Please give a spin to Thy're Here Aahha ;)

I'll send you some mp3s in exchange. ;)

I've literally listen to all of them and the average is surprisingly AWESOME! They're not ugly analog rhyms such as some of the trax uploaded in November, this is so so good!

Only 155 now. You just know the two he pulled were the best ones of the bunch. So selfish.
