If you're looking for some black metal - this looks like one hell of a split. It is between Circle Of Ouroborus and Cosmic Church. The cassette sold out in just seconds, but it looks like the vinyl is still available from NWN. Both of these bands are so damn good, and well worth checking up on...

Has anyone hear listened to Weregoat? They're a really brutal death metal band from Portland, Oregon. It has a member from another Portland band called Knelt Rote, which I would call Doomy Grind with some Power Electronics thrown in for good measure. They're two of my favorite current metal bands.

Went to see Agalloch past wednesday here in Montreal. They had their new album for sale on vinyl, in a special limited tour edition.

I always forget about this thread. I do love some black metal! Below are a few that I can't stop spinning right now...

Tukaaria - Raw To The Rapine

Wreck & Reference - Want

Mournful Congregation - Concresence Of The Sophia

Vilkacis - The Fever Of War

@ghostfires, that Wreck & Reference is awesome. Do you get much Flenser stuff? I picked up Loss of Self and a Panopticon reissue, and I love both. I need to check out more from that label

@bansel - Wreck & Reference was my first Flenser album, but right afterward I ordered Loss Of Self, and actually received it today. As far as Panopticon - I like the music a lot, but the reverb-soaked vocals just don't do it for me at all. I am ordering it though, in hopes I can get past the vocals because the music sounds amazing. I'm also ordering The Unnatural World...I've passed on it several times, and I think I'm finally ready to dig into it. It seems somewhat similar to Wreck & Reference, but with a less angry/more Depeche Mode type vocal style. I think I'm also going to order Mamaleek too - it sounds pretty interesting, and I really dig the vocals. I really like Flenser because they're putting out some really daring and different albums. I also really like 20 Buck Spin, Gilead Media, and Pesanta Urfolk all for the same reason.

I may have mentioned these guys before, but I'm spinning the album again and wanted to share the second track. It is one of the most cinematic metal songs I would say I've ever heard...and listen to that damn bass line! You've never heard something like that in metal I bet! This entire album is just so great.

Well why you're out purchasing metal records...might I suggest the following as well!

These guys sound an awful lot like Ash Borer, obviously a good reason why they're on Psychic Violence...but damn are they great! I've spun that album probably ten times since buying it.

Had an mp3 copy of the new 1349 album sent to me yesterday & it is friggin' awesome.

Probably their most accessible album to date and one I'll be picking up if they have a vinyl release.

@bansel - Gracias amigo!

I must have listened to it at least 10 times already.
Up there for my metal album of the year for sure.

I might not be a black metal expert by any stretch but I do love Leviathan, Wolves In The Throneroom and Deafheaven a whole lot. WITTR and Deafheaven might not be necro or cvlt by the true die hards but by god what awesome music. A few albums by Xasthur are pretty great (Subliminal Genocide, To Violate the Oblivious) if you're into really depressive and suicidal BM. And for true cvlt points I do have to mention Gorgoroth's Twilight of the Idols.

The 777 trilogy by Blut Aus Nord are some of my favourite records ever. The records go for a lot of money though.

Juste after I'm done spinning "The Thing" I'll be spinning some Xasthur. I got the Portal of Sorrow 2LP but I also got myself the CD edition boxset which comes with a 7" vinyl ep of demo tracks.
