Seen he was playing Nice And Sleazys in Glasgow ,totally cool venue but very small.
After moving to Belfast I missed the opportunity to see him ,but got The Jon Spencer Blues explosion coming up so it ain't all that bad.

Low quantity alert. Only 3 "The Child" 12"s left on his bandcamp.

Thanks for the warning, Bub. Ordered. I'd been holding out for a shoo that had both The Child and Temple Room 12"s, but Temple Room has eluded me at every turn. Anybody else have a lead? La Lorna is due in today. Looking forward to spinning that tonight.

No probs Mateo! Yeah I was holding off too but since they're both on different labels, I didn't want to risk missing out on this. Temple Room may show up next week on there for all we know. But thank goodness for showing numbers in stock. Speaking of missing out, I missed out on La Llorona. Ugh. Been kicking myself in the ass over it. I should have just plunked down the cash :(

@Bub - Still waiting to get home and spin La Llorona. It's been a long fucking day.

@philball1974 - It's worth the wait. You won't be dissapointed.

@monsterworship - Thanks for the heads up. I've never seen that on there before, but then again Mount Analog's web page confounds me and I'm never certain how to find the new releases among the old.

I honestly don't see the similarities between "Confrontations" and my work at all but I will take that as a compliment.

To the criticism that Umberto was less than nice, Matt is an awesome dude and sometimes people are in weird moods or they're tired or it could be a myriad of reasons. He has a weird sense of humor and sometimes that's not for everyone. Some people don't take compliments well and that can lead to socially awkward exchanges. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the guy, he's really an amazing dude.

Respectfully,
Justin Sweatt/Xander Harris

May someone recomend me some artist, or band similar to Zombi, Umberto, Maiovvi (in his less disco way), Xander Harris, Unit Black Flight or even Carpenter and Pye Corner Audio...
I love the Progressive Electronic (Horror?) Synth music of those records. Recently I've been looking for new sound in that line but I only find new Synthwave artists, like the ones you post in that topic. Dont get me wrong but I'm not so fan of that synthwave sounds.

@dahousen

There's the obvious recommendations of Pentagram Home Video and Slasher Film Festival for that darker synth sound... and the new Carpenter LP on the way.

Be interested in seeing some more recommendations on this topic myself.

@Xander - agreed, that whole EP sounds strong - Antoni flagged it up in one of t'other threads.

As an aside, can I ask whether you're still making music yourself, and also where is a good place to start listening to your back catalogue for anyone liking that darker synth sound (Urban Gothic, perhaps?). Cheers

I saw it on the non-soundtrack thread after I posted here, sorry for the double post!

I am definitely still making music. The best place to start, in my opinion, is "Urban Gothic" and then explore "Contamination", "Snow Crash", "Poison Belt", and "The New Dark Age of Love". I had a 45 single come out not too long ago on Rock Action records in November of 2014. It's on Spotify and it's one of my favorite things I've done.

You can check it out here:

I'm working on a ton of stuff at the moment. I'm currently working on my third full length that will be released on Rock Action hopefully this year. I've finished two of the songs already and currently holing up and recording a bunch more. It's going to be varied with 70s disco, straight up industrial, weird Kraut, kind of all of the place but still me. I'm also doing some remixes and I have a couple of tracks coming out on compilations in February on DKA Records and Mirror Universe Tapes. The DKA records one is super Industrial/EBM and is available for pre-order here: https://dkarecords.bandcamp.com/album/s ... t-the-body

The track that will be on the Mirror Universe compilation is a demo of one of the songs I just finished for the new record.

Thanks for asking, that made me smile. I really appreciate it.

Sorry for another post but almost everything I've done is here to look through at your leisure, with the exception of the "Chrysalid" tape. That one is available on Spotify though. It's a rights thing...

Crap! One other thing I forgot to add: I have a tape EP coming out in a couple of weeks on the Austin label Marmara records. It's to hold people over until I finish the full length. It's really dark, has some Coil, Demdike Stare, and Skinny Puppy vibes. There will be a bonus track included on the digital downloads, very dark acid kind of stuff.
