This label is everything that is wrong with the music industry. Crappy compilations, endless variants stuck out one after another, selling outside record stores and blithering incompetence.

You go shitlab.

Yep

I believe someone was saying Sony records is a parent company so it makes sense they're all about money and money only

Come on now guys.

If you luck out with the online variants, remember you can always slip on some tight jeans (and maybe a little hat), and go down Hot Topic for a super exclusive picture disc.

While I do prefer scores over soundtrack compilations, I do buy the occasional compilation. Being a huge fan of the show (and the comics) I was happy to see The Walking Dead soundtrack being released. I would love a release of all score music but on the whole I think the show has had a good mix of music. The label has had some issues starting out (like most labels) but I think The Walking Dead was well done. While this is far from my favorite compilation musically the pressing sounds good and I think the packaging was very well done. While I would still love a record of just score music I think the show had some even better songs used in the later seasons and I look forward to Volume #2. My 2 cents

I pre-ordered the Breaking Bad score last month from LITA. Hoping that still ships 4/30.

Exactly. Soundtracks aren't always just about music cues. Yes you can get mainstream music elsewhere but a soundtrack is the music that is in the movie or tv series. So is both.

No offense to any fans, but I'm grateful I don't care enough about either of these releases or shows to be disappointed, inconveniecned, or out any coin. This is sad shit.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and free to spend your hard earned money where you see fit, however, you couldn't be more off the mark in regards to saying that Sony is the parent company of Spacelab9 is incorrect. We are distributed by RED whom, yes, are owned by Sony but Spacelab9 is an independent label owned and operated by two people. All about money? Hardly, but people will believe what they want to believe.

Apart from the opening riff I didn't like the soundtrack. Packaging looks pretty cool though for a cash cow.

I don't get all the hate for this label and their releases…? Looks like a lot of care and thought went into these releases and if you're a fan of these shows, I can't see being bummed-out about this.

Hmmm. over the top packaging, and cheaper than most other soundtrack labels on this forum at $24.99 for the BB release. Limited press. Label run by 2 dudes. So how the hell is this a cash cow again? I'm pretty sure these guys aren't making a mint off of this, if anything maybe breaking even. Not liking a soundtrack is one thing but so many people come into this thread to shit all over Spacelab. And it's always people that weren't interested in the product in the first place!

Because thier first 2 releases are mainstream titles and it's not cool

Cash cow was probably poor English. I think the term is cash-in.

I've nothing against the label, the release looks well put together. Soundtrack is still rubbish though!

"Mainstream" titles are not cool? Sounds pretty elitist to me... I would say that John Carpenter releases are mainstream as well, I mean we're talking about one of the most famous horror directors of all time here. To me, I don't care how popular anything is. If it's good, it's good. That's all that matters.

Darrell's avatar is a picture of one of their slipmats.

I only like things that aren't mainstream. The second I sense something is starting to become appreciated by more than a handful of people, I drop it like a bad habit.

Does that make me mainstream? I might as well start shopping for records at Hot Topic. Really fill out my Blink 182 picture disc collection. Damn. Well, it was nice knowing you guys.

How many is a "handful" of people? Because I'm pretty sure there are thousands of soundtrack collectors out there. If you haven't read some of the other threads, it's pretty apparent that it'a really "fucking hipster".
