sorry, i should have been more clear, i definitely didn't mean to imply that this forum was the primary source for the vitriol (we're tame compared to what I see elsewhere).

but, I also think you are oversimplifying (and misreading) my response (as well as other responses). some attacks are lame, whiney and unwarranted. some are not. some are vitriolic, some are not. I am not trying to lump them all together nor am I even trying to quell them.

Nowhere did I remotely imply that folks weren't free to complain all they want. by all means, they are free to do so (with or without vitriol). though I also feel Mondo is completely free to ignore this board if they so choose (that was my point (I think ))

I usually just use italics, but yes, the forum should be able to make the replies stick out automatically. The same with signatures, which I find quite annoying.

The Reply feature doesn't work for several reasons. I think that when someone replies to your post and you open the thread, it will jump to that reply. But everyone else who opens the thread will not see the reply. At least, that's how I think it works...

Anyway, all this should probably go in the relevant forum/thread, but I can't find that right now...

With signatures, I found that messing about with the font size etc to make it look like a separate thing to the main body of the text helps, but then I noticed that nobody else had a sig so I binned it anyway


As for the other stuff - yes, the quote tags are rather pointless as you may as well just copy/paste for the exact same result... With the last set of alterations, everyone should have access to all the text-changing stuff as the Keymasters so while it's annoying to do so, it's possible to make quotes actually look like quotes.

On the Reply thing: clicking the "... minutes ago" bit next to the thread title will take you to the last posted comment whether it was a reply or just a new thing. Helpful in a thread that doesn't get a lot of replies but where someone's dived into the middle, pot luck if it's a busy one. And a nightmare in ones like the introductions thread where stuff appears all over the place because a comment that a bunch of people replied to got deleted...

All seems to be general wordpress stuff, so unless they upgrade so that more messageboard-friendly bells & whistles get added (unlikely), we're all stuck with it

I'm finally going to get back on the Mondo bandwagon with The Visitor after skipping the last few releases. The music to that film is beyond killer and Shaw's art blows me away. I'm all into the more cult horror/sci-fi stuff Mondo does, but I can skip all the recent blockbuster biz.

@philball, sorry didn't mean to seem curt, but the consensus around here is that the mastering is low quality and from CD and the dialogue is distractingly mixed in with the music tracks. I agree on both counts. Cheers.

No worries Jimmy, I genuinely meant thanks for the heads up. It's a vinyl I haven't got and after the excellent DW release of the others I was looking at the mondo release, but hadn't heard much about it. £30 is a lot of money for disappointing vinyl.
