Supposedly Severin is releasing this in 4k in the near future. Looking forward to that, it's one of my favorite slashers

NW, a personal favourite. Featuring great scene with Buddy Repperton! (William Ostander). Excellent companion piece to American Gigolo.

I’d give anything to see the original non-linear, more sexual/graphically violent cut that recieved disastrous previews in 1982. Completely re-edited with some reshoots, and with Joe Jackson’s songs replaced by a moody John Barry score a la Body Heat, it wasn’t released until ‘84.
I love this version anyway but the original cut is so tantalising.

Go (1999)

I remember the seeing the DVD in the early 2000s but never seen the movie.
Now in 4K and it is pretty fun. To be young again…

I will start watching in a week or so because I am sure I otherwise won't be able to finish this one in October.
I was working on my list for october with my wife yesterday! Not fully set in stone yet but we have 4 categories 80's week, Lovecraftian week, Cult week and Body Horror week. Definitely have way more movies on the list than we can actually get through in that time but we'll try

Here's a few I watched over the weekend

The Bride - this one seemed like a bunch of ideas thrown into a pot with a good chunk of money and no real idea with what they wanted to actually do with it. One of the most grating choices was how they decided to make the main character talk. Another thing that bothered me is it seemed like they wanted to keep things "authentic" to the period for a lot of it but then they were mixing in modern music and it just didn't work at all for me. This was a pretty big miss over all for me

Touch Me - Interesting idea, kind of obnoxious main characters, some really stellar scenes and a final act that was dragged out for way too long. I enjoyed it but not something I'll probably ever rewatch

City Warriors - This is a fairly low budget HK action movie from '88, opens with an insane rape scene followed by a big shootout that sets the stage for the film. Story is kind of typical HK action fare for the era but it's extra violent, a handful of crazy stunts, lots of bullets and quite entertaining through out. One scene in particular cracked me up, a bad guy took over a bus and there was a screaming kid with his mother and the bad guy shot the kid in the leg bc they were being annoying, you just don't see that shit anywhere else

Hope you enjoyed it Bez! Fun movie for sure.

Wife and I went and saw Resident Evil last night while my daughter was at her band rehearsal. Far better than I thought it would be. Super gross and quite fun as well.

House was a lot of fun.

Just finished this one. Also in 4K. Not sure why it is rated that poorly. It isn’t great, a bit boring, but not that bad either. On par with The End of Oak Street.

Haha your Jaws TR comment is genius @bez - either the kindest review for it possible, or the most brutal one for Oak Street ever! 😂😂😂

I really liked the first one. Not sure if I saw the rest. But you say trilogy? I thought there were seven or so…
