Yes, it is excellent. I have a Japanese version and this one. I think that is all.

Of all the Goblins, I’m really drawing inspiration from this one lately. Fully prog as all hell, you can really hear the inspiration of Yes on many of these tracks.

Which has made me wonder if I ever told my Goblin story here (don’t get too excited… just a fun encounter)

Back in I guess around 2005 or 6, maybe bit later I have no clue, the full original lineup were united for a headline show at Supersonic Festival here in my hometown. I was running live visuals for bands for most of the weekend but told the organisers in no uncertain terms I was downing tools for Goblin- no way I was missing that.

On my way to the preshow Q & A in a small movie theatre on the festival site I found myself walking behind a very intriguing, kinda scary guy going the same way - he was super tall and thin with a mop of intensely curled hair with mirrored aviator shades, wearing a floor length white leather coat (on a blazing summer day) and classic Giallo black leather gloves. And white leather zip-up ankle boots with two inch heels. This guy!!

Anyway of course it turned out it was Massimo Morante. RIP king.

So during the Q & A I got up the nerve to ask them a super long, sweaty, involved question about whether they were interested in horror films and film scores before they started working with Argento.

And Massimo just said ‘no’, and moved on. Amazing. So indeed, the scary dude in the black gloves did murder someone that day! 😵

The show, by the way, was UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE. I was with a bunch of people watching, none of whom were Goblin-heads and much more sort of experimental/art musicians and they all kept saying ‘wow, thank god a proper band finally!’

That's an awesome little story. I don't own this album for some reason, I should remedy that as I do really enjoy it

Yeah, the track ‘Goblin’ is their definitive prog statement I think, perhaps they felt so too hence the title. ‘Snip Snap’ is a hard slab of funk with a fretless bassline worthy of Mick Karn.
