The new 4k transfer for The Killer looks fantastic, my wife has been getting into John Woo films recently and this was her first viewing. I told her it's my favorite, I think she likes Hard Boiled more though which is fair it's one of the best action films of all time

I believe I have now seen 10 of Woo’s movies. For me the Killer is his best. Hard Boiled is terrific, but The Killer even better.
Need to rewatch Face/Off.
I might give Paycheck a go as well. Never seen that one.

Did y’all know that David Hess wrote hits for Elvis, and was the first to record All Shook Up!?

He also created a ‘rock opera’ with John (Altered States) Corigliano which I’m definitely all about tracking down.

I do love a good cult doc, and this one is the usual mix of mad, ugly, insane and a downer. But also very funny, and the closest I’ve seen to resembling a Christopher Guest mockumentary. The music score is great too.

The Five Deadly Venoms is a good one!

i watched weird and far too long vampire anime film tonight called Kizumonogatari - Koyomi Vamp. Turns out it's 3 OVA's strung together as a feature and it needed some editing. Character animation was beautiful but pretty much all the backgrounds are pretty bad CG

Now I'm watching Species II. Got the 4K for xmas and it's fun to revisit it, it's been a few years since my last watch

This is finally happening, Grindhouse have teased it for years…. premiere in Texas late January, then bluray release in Feb!

Have been obsessed with seeing it since discovering the soundtrack album about fifteen years ago. I have the Trunk reissue, sadly the original pressing is beyond my means but the main thing is the songs - check them out if you’re unaware, they will haunt your dreams….
